Title: clarke's bat preservation!
Post by: ppccopener on March 30, 2015, 07:30:44 AM
i'm sure loads of the forum watching Clarke taping up his favourite bat yesterday I was wondering if any of the forum have good tips for preserving their favourite bat?

the wear around the middle of his bat reminded me of watching Gower years ago where the red marks appeared to concentrated to an area about the size of a cricket ball right in the sweet spot, showing his timing was so precise

 :)

My tip for bat preservation is plenty of tape round the edges and toe  :-[

Put it in a frame and hang it on the wall.... Or just use it till it falls apart

Only hit the ball with the middle of the bat...

My bat preservation strategy was to join this forum and buy more kit than I could ever need meaning a bat never gets anywhere near being used

that's very funny

and very true!!

I am expecting the mods to ban me from future posts for suggesting one bat will do for the season  :)

I actually played with a bloke years ago who had an SS jumbo for 15 years, totally original and covered in Elastoplast....he used to hit it into the trees quite a lot
