After a wink wink nudge nudge from Tom Wilkie I invested in 4 pairs of blank gloves from online stockist. Took a bit longer to arrive than I was expecting but they are decent. They are exactly the same as most brands gloves except £19!! £19 rather than £60... Can't knock it at all. They even threw in 4 pairs of inners which I wasn't expecting, shame they are way to small though.
Still, I'll post some pics up later of the actual products after a net etc. Currently, have to say that if they hold up to nets etc I'll potentially just start using these instead of branded kit due to price and no less quality.

What you boys get up to in your free time is up to you, we didn't really need to know that! ;)

I'm pissed off @wilkie113 is cheating on me!!

just ordered a few more pairs and a set of the pads. This could solve my issues with going through loads of expensive kit through netting each season at least.
-
I cant find the plain pads on there ?
where abouts do I look mate ?
Also has anyone ordered the SS Test opener from Online stockist ... any good ?

Thanks bud !

whats sizing like on the gloves?
Mens or indian mens as they look decent on site
-
I bought a pair of the plain gloves from ebay (Ones that look like the Newbery SPS gloves) but unfortunately they come up too small for me otherwise I would join you.
Online stockist never have any large mens (Hoping they'd be UK mens size) pads or gloves so I will have to stick with the branded stuff from here

I think some of the branded pads (SG?) from OLS come in "normal" sizes mate

:o :o :o I think @wilkie113 has some explaining to do, I'm sure he said that I was the only one the other day... :D :D :D

I have a couple of pairs of brand new gloves currently listed on Ebay. They are made in India by ' Champ ' and are exactly the same as the Hammer LE gloves which sell for around £60! Champ make the gloves for Hammer also! They have Pittard palms, limited branding and really are top quality, I will be using them this season. Previous to these I ordered a pair of the SS whiteouts gloves which I really liked but had to sell on here as they were just too tight. The Champ ones I have fit me perfectly and are as high quality as the SS ones in my opinion.
-
Must admit I've never heard of this site before but glad I have now as those prices seem ridiculously cheap!
Guessing they have copied current designs or stripped the logos off as one of the pads look like the old Adidas pairs from a couple of years back.
What's anyones experience using them? Worth a go?

@Andythomo21 I'm currently highest bidder on one of these mate. If you want to end the auction now I'm sure we can come to some sort or deal...

personally, these 4 are standard mens size. The inners they sent for free were way to small but the gloves are fine. I got MRH size

I'm guessing it's simply they are getting un branded gloves from the manufacturers for peanuts. Softs are actually fairly cheap.

Thanks mate. If people have bid then I always let my auctions run. I dare say you'll probably get a bargain if you're the winning bidder? Many people on this forum are well aware that most gloves are made in exactly the same place as the branded ones, and are of the same quality. The masses on ebay tend to prefer to bid on the brands though so I can't see the price getting too high on these as Champ is relatively unknown in the UK. I've always been more than happy with the gear I've got from them though.

Has anyone had experience with the pads?. Just wondering on sizes as I usually need large mens being 6'3 so wondering if any of the blank pads would be suitable for my height?..

I'd be intrigued too. I imagine you are like me, Large mens pads and gloves as mens just sometimes dont always feel right

Wow, pretty good then. Am I right in thinking they're based in India? Would love to see some pics and get your thoughts when you get them through.

Yeah definitely, GN pads especially in normal mens sizes feel tiny. I've had GM and B3 pads in normal sizes before and they've felt fine.

I can do some pics of the gloves but tbh, this is just as good

I'll post how good I think they are after a few hours batting in them. Currently, they feel like the top end of some of the brands on this forums top end gloves. Just at least one third cheaper.

Quick update for the longer gents among us. Contacted OS yesterday and has a reply this morning suggesting he would have some ranges of XL Mens in the next 3-4 weeks. Current sizes in all equipment is Indian Mens.

interesting to know. The gloves I have fit perfectly, I wouldn't say I have small hands but not big hands either

Any pics of them @ProCricketer1982 ?

see below. not really any different in the flesh to that picture
-
Ive just finished a season of using them, held up well, the wrist band got a little bit dirty and tattered from catching on velcro but you expect that. I'll probably buy another pair come next season to go along side these.
-
I wonder when Online Stockist will be back up and running, the 5th has been and gone :(
-
When his other mother in law is better?
-
Well, I've never seen as much interest in blank gloves!1 I got my original order of 12 pairs of gloves, 2 pads through and I've 'sold' 8 pairs and both pads already!! people see them, realise they are as good as the expensive ones and take them!! Very much hoping he's back soon, my 4 are in use and I need a few more urgently :(
I never even brought them to sell!! people just love them and the price.
-

After a grandparent's funeral?
-
Must be putting up more prices that we anticipated!

hopefully not, if he puts them up then it might mean he loses business. no point ordering if it's not cheap
-
I'd agree. Been a while though. Did you ever get contact back regarding your order as it was pretty close to when the site stopped taking orders wasnt it?

I mailed him, it's been dispached now (got all teh email shipping confirmation the other day). I've asked him for some prices on bulk orders.. Might get in a shed load at once, save myself buying anything for a few years
-
had a pair of these last year and they are great and so as the unbranded pads....
-
So the second batch of kit arrived. Pads are as good as any top line pad, seem to fit well (I'm 5ft 10). They keep putting in loads of free infers which is nice, however they are very very small so useless to me 😞
-
Also website is back up so I'll do another order. Bruce let me know what you want bud.
-
Where are you based I might be interested in a pair of gloves?

-
You can't, no PM selling is allowed. Your posts will be removed by the mods/admin :(
-
How is this PM selling?
-
Pm means private message. This is clearly on the open forum.
-
I know but I've seen posts like this taken down recently by the admins

Yes I can always pop along during the day.

It's not bothering me at all, I'm just looking out for you guys. No harm intended :(

OLS put some lovely looking Masters 9000s on their facebook page yesterday, not sure on price but looks like they have sold 4 of 6 already.
-
It's not pm selling. It's not selling at all. It's clubbing together for an order. Ady's a decent lad not in it for the money! I would be pretty sure he wouldn't be looking to make a profit.
-
Is anybody still up for this or I will go ahead and get some myself? It works out at 8 quid postage for one or 5 quid each for 2 and 4 quid each for three and so on.
-
I've been thinking about getting these myself as a spare pair, the only problem being that they only stock mens size and I have tiny hands, even my GM 606 youth sized gloves are too big without inners filling them out a bit.
On an unrelated note, has anyone ever ordered one of the custom bats from Online Stockist? If so was it any good? I'm thinking about getting one.
-
Just received two pairs of these, quick delivery but beware, they are quite small. I've got small hands and they only just fit me, fingers are right at the end of glove. Excellent build quality and feel otherwise.
-
Had 2x Gloves,2x SS Duffels and a SS Heritage all from Online and all promptly delivered and spot on......Bat was a punt, but so far so good for £79 !
-
I might take the chance with the gloves then, I could always sell them at my club if they don't fit. As for the bat, i'm still not sure whether to take the risk.
-
If/when my SS pro issue softs die I'm definitely getting a brandless pair of pads again.
If I get blank gloves too it'll save me a fortune, or I could go back to buying matching gloves every time I get a new bat again.
-
@Cin88 - ordering online without seeing or feeling the bat is always a bit of a risk, but with OLS, cricmart.in and others you can request pictures of actual bats and ask questions to reduce the risk. You can get a great deal and people on here (including me) have bought bats that way without problems, but others have had issues and the after sales service is not straightforward.....
-
I have considered that risk (hence my current reluctance). I already bought a bat online earlier this month (kookaburra kahuna 400) but I have doubts about said bat's quality, so i'm thinking about getting a custom made bat as a "match" bat. I'm considering speaking to some of the sponsors on here about having one made.
-
You will get a great bat from any of the makers in the forum, I suggest you pm or email a couple of them and see what they can do for your budget - I found John at Red Ink and Paul Aldred to be very helpful when i was thinking about a new bat.
