To all wicket keepers out there, I've just spoke to Geoff on the phone, very nice man indeed. Unfortunately due to Health issues he no longer makes them.
Does anyone know a name of an alternative custom made wicket keeping glove brand or manufacturer?
Thanks
Luke

grahamjanetplimmer@hotmail.com - This guy made Jack Russells gloves.
-
Thanks mate, do you know prices and designs?
Also what his time reply and even make the gloves?
-
No problem buddy. I know for a fact he hand makes the gloves but I couldn't tell you what the prices are, I haven't ordered any from him but a guy from my club has been using him for years after sending an email to Jack Russell and getting a personal recommendation. His service is great apparently but he usually only deals in emails if I recall correctly, if you try call him it's usually his Mrs who picks up the phone and hilarity generally ensues apparently!
I suggest sending him an email and seeing what he's got for you.

Just Spoke to the bloke for about an hour on the phone. He read my email and and called me!
There's a big waiting like for his gloves. But he's sorting my old ones out for me.
There will be a website going live soon. So keep looking around for him people!

Hello to all the folks on this forum.
It's my sad duty to inform you that Geoff passed away last Wednesday at the age of 83.
It was always a source of wonder and pride to him when I showed him the comments and compliments on this blog and others about his work. Thank you for your patronage of his work and your kind words, they mean an awful lot. Hopefully he'll be enjoying a pint with Brian Close. Xx

Sorry to hear that, my condolences to his friends and family.

Another legend gone. Sad times indeed. Geoff was a great man and truly loved the work he did. It showed in all the gloves he produced.
a true gent and will certainly be missed.

Ericno5,
I've just read your post about Geoff.
He first made me a pair of gloves about 20 years ago and been making them for me for since although they were that good i would only get a new pair because I wanted some never that I needed them.
He truly loved what he did and was so pleased with the quality of his product.
Geoff was a true gent with some amazing stories to tell, I'd often spend as much time talking to him about the professionals who visited him in his little work shed as it would have taken him to make the gloves.
What a great guy, I will miss him!
