Afternoon everyone,
I'm contemplating getting a bat for early in the season as the pitches will be slow and low due to conditions (North Wales) and will need something with a lower middle than I have at the minute.
I currently have a custom Solitaire bat but it has a high middle as it is based on an old Puma bat that I loved so much.
I've been keeping an eye out on ebay for a while but havent really seen anything.
As money is an issue (approx £100 budget), I don't know whether to get a cheap one from an Indian supplier or go for something from a forum sponsor or even a cheap sportsdirect one.
Any advice would be great, thanks!

You don't really see middles much lower than this, which is very low, so low they had to alter the way they apply the TON stamp!

love that jake - a little less concaving and up to about 2-10 and it would be close to my ideal bat!!

Crivens, that's way low. Designed for wickets made from sponge.
B3 made me a custom net bat for £100. Specify your middle and away you go, sir!

Not sure what I'd do with a bat that light though, so I'm safe from an impulse buy this time :-[

@vitas cricket. Jake are these full SH or do they come in shorter. I read somewhere they can often be smaller than a full SH

Proper SH mate. All bats intended for the UK market will be, can't comment on bats acquired elsewhere ;)

I think that the thought that you need a low middle bat for slow low wickets or an high middle bat for fast bouncy wickets must have been invented by someone trying to sell bats it makes no sense as batting is all a out how we play Technique and Timing are the key along with putting yourself in the perfect position to play the shot rather than where the middle of your bat is.

Get an SS Heritage from OLS. The Heritage is by far provides the best value for money (better than the SS LE, atleast from the ones I have seen). And ofcourse, ordering from OLS means no warranties.But you should be fine if you get one that is in stock.

OLS - buyer beware. It can't go back and if its 104mm wide or any damage ( like a nail in the handle) then tough luck. Unless you can physically inspect it or have a no quibbles return policy you are at the mercy of the overseas seller. Can't stress it enough, is it worth the saving?
