I have a good collection of bats from B3, LAVER & CA. But I am considering especially SS, Salix & Aldred (secondary option).
Recently I came across a guy from cricmart.in who are offering some amazing hand picked willows and I am tempted by their prices.
The new SS which has the new stickers (Master) looks tempting but I am really confused. Hoping for some positive replies. Thanks.

Just about to order, Swat is a top bloke to deal with and Everyone needs a master in their bat collection
-
Is @swat paying you commission or something @WalkingWicket37 haha :D
For every Master sold you get 10% off your next order?
-
No commission or discount of any sort mate. I'm a sucker for a bargain me (and have placed my order now) :)
-
Clearly you are loving the 5000 you got off Ajit, r u going for a 7000 this time?
-
No mate I've gone down to a 1000! For the price you can't go far wrong (the master stickers look so nice I'd probably be tempted by a fence post with them on though haha)

I have been blown away by their (SS) harrow size bats too!
40mm sizes with 2.6 weight. I guess better than buying a CA which is shorter in length compare to standard size. Again, personal opinion and may differ from CA lovers!

What's the face width and height of the blade on that bad boy?
I'd imagine that will excite any vertically challenged members! :D
-
I wouldnt know the exact dimensions but its roughly 1 inch shorter than adult size and probably few mm in width. Blade on its own is roughly few cm shorter than adult size.
Really exciting for those who experiment!
Anyway, joy i have a team member who has Salix POD and it has served him well so far. I wouldnt think you will go wrong with any from the list to be honest. That said I am biased towards SS :D
-
so have people used this cricmart.in?

If you don't have an Aldred yet, I highly recommend getting one. It is a joy to play with!
Not sure about SS, never like their shapes or feel.

Who cares about shape of feel when they look this dreamy! ;)

I would say my Aldred players,, is very similar to my old laver.
I can't praise Paul and his batmaking skills more highly, and I'm sure if you got a bat from him you would not be disappointed

@WalkingWicket37 I'm surprised with your grip OCD that you are happy to allow your LE grip to be slightly wonky. Poor show that chap! ;)
-
You'll have to show us your 1000 when you get it as 36.20 is worth a punt just for the stickers alone :)
-

LOL.
To each their own, I guess. I would rather have an amazing feel when the ball pings off the bat. For the price, my Aldred is performing like a champ!! People who have tried my Aldred, love it and some of them even own "dreamy" stickered SS bats.

I sometimes feel Paul doesn't get enough credit for the quality he produces.
His butterfly bats are one of a kind!

This is the issue being on this forum, too many bats to buy and not enough monies, my list is quickly building ;)
- H4L
- Blank Bats
- Aldred
- B3
- SS

It's not wonky, it's artistically applied! It's perfectly level and at a 90 degree angle at the top and base of the handle.

Don't you worry, I'll get pics up when it arrives. The postage is almost the same price as the bat, so it's worth ordering a few other bits to make it more cost effective (that's my excuse anyway!)

It's not just the stickers, the grains are lovely on those two bats as well! :D
As for performance, I've never used an Aldred so can't directly compare, but if you want bang for buck (or ping for buck, if you prefer) I've found SS are right up there with anyone, and not only their top of the range sticks either.
-
^ Like I said, I tried SS in the nets, I did not like how it felt. I don't like their shape either.
-
Aww if I knew you were buying I would have asked you to get me one as well, next time maybe :(
-
Can we not start a panini sticker book style bat swap so I can increase my very small collection? Got...got...NEED! SWAPS!!!!!!
-
Hey Joy, so which one you decided on then?

That is lovely simon! I won a Gladiator players from Paul at IJC and it was an absolute gun, it was light for me so I gave it to the club to raffle. If I get some bats sold on ebay I may look to get a nice SS/Ton
-
@simonmay5 , I picked up a gladiator today and it felt a bit toe heavy. My feelings for SS did not change. :D
But...I picked up an F-18 (GN) today and man o man, I need to get me some of that!!!!!! What an amazingly balanced piece of willow, comfy handle, nice bow! Ebay, here I come. :D
-
You may want to look at the new Master series then. Beautiful balance and pick up on those.

You forgot to mention if you get a Master 9000 and take the model sticker off the front it will make you bat like Kumar Sangakara ;)
And the stickers all look borderline pornographic!

Hahaha... I tried to use one without 9000 written, but couldn't go past 20! the stickers remind me of GM. Certainly a massive improvement from SS guys.
