Is there any ways that you can find out that if you are a top or bottom hand player
-
Are you a filthy slogger that mainly hits to cow corner?
-
There is an easy way to tell.
Stand on your front leg and lift your back leg off the ground then lean forward and put your top hand behind your head and your bottom hand out by your side and then do the same with your bottom hand and then tell me which way you over balance while doing it.
-
Both on the same foot?
-
to the right (fyi i am a righthanded batsman)
-
But i dont think i am over balancing when i dont both the actions- i can balance pretty well when i am doing both the things that you said
-
Yep there's your answer.... You are gullible :D
-
good job mate good job...

If you are good hitting through the off side off the front foot, especially through the drive then you are a good top handed player.
If you hit the ball more towards the leg side the your bottom hand is taking over.
-
Or you have a natural advantage like I do I'm left handed but bat right handed so my top hand always takes over as it the most powerful

Cool thanks @Buzz - i mostly play to the off side with the occaional pull to the leg
-
If you can play inside out, you are bottom handed.
-
Do you score Loadsa runs?
If yes, then who gives a monkeys
-
Bottom handed players always have their grips sliding halfway up the handle. Top handed players never need to realign their grips.
-
If you bat like me and grip the bat tight with your bottom hand and give the ball a wack to the legside you are a bottom Hand player.
-
People can be playing on the offside and still be bottom handed players. I for an instance am a
strong bottom hand player but play mostly (>90%) on the off side, drill a lot of balls straight down the ground or through covers along with lots of fierce cuts.
-
I think what we are saying is that it's more common or natural for a bottom handed player to hit legside.

Exactly. dont over think too much. Batting is all about clear head and do what comes naturally... some very unorthodox batsmen have been very successful and scored lots of runs...
