Hi,
Just wondering what people's opinions are on the best base layers available. I've gone for the long term view and bought short sleeved shirts and jumper for my new club from the not particularly cheap Serious Cricket. A base layer seems a good idea while its Baltic on match days until that one weekend in August we all pine for.
So, any recommendations? Would probably like to spend no more than £20-25.
Cheers.

I always liked skins but I duno what they go for these days
-
Ok, how do they come up size wise?
-
Nike or Adidas ones from Sports Direct were fairly cheap and do the job well, and don't have branding on the sleeves which is something I was pleased about (I don't want to look like a walking advert for every brand of clothing I'm wearing!)
I also had a woodworm one that was really thick so kept you warm (and no branding on the sleeves again).
I'd avoid the kookaburra ones from experience though, the seams all came apart in the washing machine :(

Skins are pretty tight from memory but you know when you are 65 kilo of pure cricketing spirit I could get away with a small.

I have used a couple of brands from SD. Nike were good but more expensive that the other brand (not sure if was Karrimore or Adidas), and kept their colour better, the cheaper ones went a bit grey after a few washes.

I like Underarmour stash personally - but for really cold days, uniqlo do some really good stuff which is cheap.
I have also have a white poloneck from there which has been worn under my shirt a few times!!

Skins are the best, but are probably out of budget.
I like sub sports, I have a lot of their stuff knocking about that i mainly wear at nets etc to keep my skins stuff less smelly for games.
sadly they have gone a bit more professional since the days of being an ebay only business, which means a bit of a price rise and also their jazziest colours appear to have been stripped out of the range. Still plenty of choice though

Barrington Sports have an excellent selection of heat gear.
I find skins to tight on the arms for very cold days when fielding I wear a micro fleece with shorter sleeves under a 3/4 sleeve length shirt.

Under Armour and Sondico at Sports Direct...cheap and best.
-
Depending on size Just noticed Gray Nicolls Sports Bay clearance have a couple of Base layers at under 10.00.

Skins make the best base layers, buy its advisable to go up a size as they are a close fit.
