Hi guys,
Just starting cricket again after 15 yrs :o I hope it all goes well. I have a few questions about the gear. I am interested in some GM pads and gloves, I am 5 feet 5 inches so which size should I get? I think small men for GM pads would be good? Also the gloves? my hands are 19cm so small mens size again?
I am interested in GM original pads and gloves, I like that colours and design. Are they any good?

GM original gloves were my choice last season, lovely gloves but they're very generous size wise.
As for the pass Small Mens is probably a safe bet, maybe even youths (if they do them)
The best thing to do with softs is to go to a local shop and try them on (assuming that's an option anyway)

Standard mens gloves and pads in GM fit me perfectly. I use large mens in all other makes so might be worth getting a size lower than your normally use. Can't knock the quality!
-
I have GM pads and gloves, i'm only 5 foot 7 myself. Youth sized for both fits fairly well, although my small hands are buried in the gloves if I don't have inners to fill them out a bit.
-
I would suggest the small men's size in both the pads and gloves.

Thanks guys, I'll order small mens size :)
Also one more thing, any suggestions for aero p2 strippers size? small or medium?

You're the best person to answer that question.
Have a look at the size guide and get your tape measure out :D

I am 5'8'' and GM small mens pads are still a little large on me, I would go with GM youths pads and safe a lot of cash too!!! Best fitting small mens pads I have found are Kookaburra. But you need to try them on get into a shop and see what fits best.

Ohh...I already ordered the small mens size delivering tomorrow. If they are big on you then certainly they'll be very big on me, will have to return.
My problem is the nearest cricket store to me is about 100 miles away, I am in Anglesey. I could buy something for the price of fuel for a round trip.

You could try Helygen, based in Valley.

Thanks yeah might give them a call if these GMs dont fit me :)

Everything arrived today but the pads are about 2 inches too big. I called VKS (where i bought the stuff from) about youth site but they told me small men and youth is the same size? GM website obviously shows youth and small men two different sizes but the customer support lady said they are both the same??
-
Sorry to hear that and youth size pads are smaller, in the GM range I have found in the past. Like I said best small men's pads are kookaburra I have found and most youth/small men's gloves I find are the same size. There is nothing like trying pads on in a shop though!!

I got the GN legend small mens and they fit perfectly and they are the best pads I've ever used ;)

Go for Youth's if you are getting GMs. I'm 5'8/9 and tried a men's pair on...knee roll was halfway up my thigh!!!!

I know exactly how you feel there, sometimes when I try GM gear on I end up thinking "I didn't know that Shaquille O'Neal plays cricket". Some of their stuff pretty much buries me.

GM sizing is strange, their small men's pads are bigger than the Normal men's size on gray nicolls, hunts county, m&h and kookaburra lol
Their small men's gloves fit me perfectly though and I don't have big hands.
So they assume everyone in UK is over 6 Feet lol

Or what you find with most pads is the main upright of the pad is reduced in length to create the small men's pads but they put a full size top hat on it which looks completely out of proportion!!!!!
