Title: Bespoke Bats
Post by: LDifa on May 07, 2015, 08:31:07 AM
Just had a Skype chat with the Doctor, it is so cool being able to work through your favourite shape and see the tweaks on screen.

Now off to work whilst the guys at B3 find me a rocket launcher.

I would recommend anyone and everyone to try their bespoke service  :)

Totally agree. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Streaky at the weekend. Time flew by and he was happy to do a couple of things I had forgot on the day by email. I think my design is a tweaked version of Dave's Tonto, do hope my hair brained ideas haven't mucked it up completely! The beauty of it is getting the design you want on the screen and knowing almost to the 0.1-2oz what it will weigh based on the cleft density. No confusion in the design process or the bat coming in 2oz overweight. You are really out of excuses if you can't score runs with your own custom designed bat.

I have a rather special Tonto coming to me soon. Having seen and picked up I knew it was a shape I wanted.

Will post photos when it arrives and a massive thanks to Streaky/Doctor for sorting me this out - I owe him a couple of beers and a favour in return.

I just need to get my knee sorted, bat knocked in and I'll have no excuses now of not scoring any runs!

@uksaunders will look forward to seeing your amended Tonto, have you just moved the middle further?

Nice. Looks huge and less than 2.6 finished. Looking forward to my Butterfly Tonto. Was that a 340 cleft?

Not much wood in the shoulders, pray to god you don't get a ball there.

@e4sby - Possibly an inch further up, but it's a harrow length/SSH with a slight duckbill and some weight taken off in the splice area. Some of the weight has gone back onto extending the spine towards the handle. I'm trying for a mid/high middle extending up the bat. Who knows how it will actually turn out!

That accounts for the lighter weight.

No sorry, I am sure that Streaky can email it to you or put it up, it is just a tweaked version of my 2590 bat (butterfly) which has been borrowed every week throughout the winter in the nets and is amazing.  Super short handle - in every essence it will be a Harrow that has been on B3 steriods. From memory 35mm edge, 65mm spine minimal scooping.

the one with the bigger edge is 2'10" on a 400 cleft, the smaller edge slightly fuller profile will be 2'8" on a 400 profile
