Title: BDM PLAYERS bat....
Post by: himanshuvohra on May 13, 2015, 01:03:39 PM
Its been a while my bat was showing signs of tears, so i was looking for a new bat, but couldnt find what i was looking for, which was a bat like my previous bat. Tried searching for local bat manufacturers, but couldnt find anyone great.

Then from facebook i got in touch with Mr Aditya Mahajan, owner of BDM sports. Then after a long conversation about my wants he found me a stick.
Which required finishing.

It was yesterday and today i visited his factory in meerut to pick that bat, and when i held this bat, the only word which i could think of was awesome, great pickup (better then my previous bat), looks like a meaty piece of willow.

Oooooh! That looks nice! I've been wanting to try a BDM for a while, and have actually been looking for a Master Blaster for ages. Perhaps Mr Mahajan might take my call?

That looks fabulous. Lovely profile. Any idea about the moisture content of the BDM bats? It certainly looks huge for the weight.

I recently bought a SM Pintu and it was dry like a desert. I gave it 3 coats of oil and it still feels dry. I started knocking it in and after about a couple of hours I feel that it has delaminated  >:( :(. But the ping is absolutely wonderful.

I got one coming up for sale.

38 mm edge
Zero concaving
2 lbs 6 Oz (Yes, that's with 38 mm edges and no concaving)
17 ruler straight grains

Brand spanking new.

Updates: Needed to make a minor correction in red text.

So Meerut seems to be a nice and green city? Is that how all the city looks like?
Usually it's super dusty and ultra polluted atmosphere in the Indian cities.

it is not meerut in the picture, it is delhi. I went straight to the factory, which is not that far from the highway, so i dont have much idea about meerut. But almost all major cities look same IMO.

Indian cities are green, they are not super dusty, but there is dust. Pollution is the main worry in the capital, but from what i have seen, delhi is greener then major western cities like london and new york....

@gaurav : all i wanted was a bat like my previous bat...it is no particular model, i chose the stickers, i chose not to put any dynamic power, titAnium, dynamic t20....because i dont like the look of those stickers...it is a players level willow......so i think price is very much competitive

yes, seeing the prices charged by SS, this price seems too good for a player's willow. let us know how to bat plays after some nets/matches.

I have seen drier SG bats super delaminated super pingy last a life time. In fact  one sunny  tony was passed down to next generation  and still pings superb.

@ Sitonit - check out khelmart.com - amongst the better online retailers here in india. You push em further, they'll knock another 10% off which will come to 17k.
But anyway, that's irrelevant. Got your point brah - BDM stickers don't cut the musk for most. You got the least bad lookin 1 - hope you get loads of runs man !!

nice stick.

BDM are the HUNTS/DF of India - everyone fancied it a decade or 2 ago (lots of kids had them in school few years back). Now the brand has taken the back seat due to super aggressive marketing by competitors (SS, SG, other internationals like PUMA/ADIDAS)

To me these plainer labels look much better than the titanium - and that weird scooping style on Titanium is not everyone's cup of tea.

Nothing to do with moisture. Normally grainier bats don't last long but perform really well.

I would agree, grainier bats need a lot of care, and if taken proper care they last...
