Title: Newbery T20 Bat
Post by: iand123 on May 15, 2015, 02:43:44 PM
I know they've been talking about this for a while but they just put a pic of the stickers (back only) on Facebook. I personally think they look horrible, the newbery brand used to be great and look really classy IMO

If the picture doesnt work ive direct linked it from facebook because i was being really lazy

Has it got a standard length handle or is it just the photo that makes it look longer?

I think it looks like some bedroom brand branding

Makes me feel ill and I can't seem to focus properly. Nothing wrong with having a classy t20 bat you would of thought.

then again nothing is really original these days.

So what exactly is it?  Is it a Joker? Is it an Uzi? Is it a Kudos - I think all of those are shorter blade / longer handle?

Can anyone shed any light?

Not quite a fan of the back stickers, but I do like the texturing of the front stickers. Looking at recent Newbery prices, it will probably be pretty pricey considering the Limited Edition sticker. :-[

I like it personally, don't think I could justify buying one though having a Toro and a t20 red ink already!! If it's joker dimensions I might be tempted though!!

I quite like the stickers - prefer the normal ones. Love the profile however.

On the opening post image,  they look poor. However, the next set of pictures look much better. The back sticker looks a bit out of proportion compared to the front one.

Interested to know the concept, dread to know the price.

Be interesting to know what price it will be sold at. Probably on par with the SPS bats

Front stickers are fine, but I think a black Newbery with green and silver highlights on the back would have looked way classier. The profile is rather generic to me.

I saw some of these at a bat makers workshop earlier this week, huge edges, concaved profile p, massively concaved and looks like a skate board ramp. Personally not my thing,

@SOULMAN1012 were the bats full size Chris, or were they shorter length/narrower width?

Branding is an interesting one, a little undecided at the mo. Probably pretty steep on the old price I suspect.

Happy to make one for anyone who's interested at a lot less than these probably are. Made a few for mates and for forum members and all seem to have gone down really well.

Full size but a horrible profile in my opinion

Just had a look at the photos on PDC, it's easy to see the point @SOULMAN1012 was making about the profile! Not for me I'm afraid

As others have said, the front stickers look bang on brilliant. The rear ones look like the work experience kid designed them. Love the profile though

If you got one from newbery direct, I wouldn't hurt to ask if they had any sets of tt stickers left, as far as I can see they are a similar green, so you could just put the rear sticker on the blitz

Bought a Blitz last year and then had it hand knocked in at Itsjustcricket, Kennington, London. I have mixed experiences with the bat with current average of around 25 runs. It is perfect for driving but not so good for pulls, hooks and cuts. There is a lot of wood but not enough power in my opinion. On 2 occasions I bottom edged the balls to the stamps given considerable size of the edges on the bat while trying to cut the deliveries. My rating to date would be 5/10 for the bat unfortunately. The body of the bat is harrow size and the handle is slightly longer to make up for the body. I am not 100% sure whether the size has an affect on the unease I feel with the bat.

With the benefit of a B3 I have used once last weekend, I have now handed the Blitz in at VKS at Ealing, London to rebalance the bat. They will reduce circa 3-4oz of the bat. I do not have problem with the weight of a bat but I am not getting along with the chunky model. Once the bat is rebalanced and I have used it few times, I will come back with an additional review.
