Title: T20 Blast
Post by: beaver5 on May 15, 2015, 06:47:20 PM
Excited to see the start of our T20 season. Watching Birmingham v Notts on Sky. Where is Ian Bell, why is he not playing? So ECB not learnt anything or interested in promoting our domestic game. He should be told he must play as part of his contract rather than putting his feet up at home. Would Kohli be forced to rest in an IPL match if India had a test coming up? Our best players need to play if crowds are to increase and we learn to compete against the top nations.

He's brilliant, puts more into his celebrations than his bowling!

Wessels seeing it fairly well.

Will smith has got one of the wierdest roles in cricket. Goes from being a FC top order batsman who hits 1000 fc runs in a season and rarelt bowls to a t20 opening bowler and lower order batsman between games...

Some nice hitting from Hales.

Anyone just see Worcester's advert on the telly you don't have to pay for? Good stuff, and nice to seeing clubs taking a punt in getting more exposure.

If Broad bowls some of the toilet we saw at Headingly I think Leics have a shout against Notts tonight! Thought Carbs batted nicely yesterday btw

Buzzing atmosphere at Somerset tonight with  the sell out, great experience. Dropping Gayle in his 30s is an unforgivable crime though clearly.

Looks like a good round of games, including a good win for the glorious Glosters.

On a side note Fidel Edwards looked absolutely deadly tonight. Looked to be bowling 90mph at a minimum on a constant basis and some of his bouncers were mad. Good way to go when you've just reclaimed your place in the side. Bit awkward having Jackson Bird (your overseas player) as your 12th man carrying out the spare balls for the umpire as Gayle loses them...

Notts lose to Leicester as uMar akmal comes off 76* of 44 balls.

Not even gonna mention the big game up north......

Buttler is an absolute freak, he won lancs the game for them all by himself. Watch the replays on Sky tomorrow and you'll see why!!

That was an insane chase by Buttler. What was incredible was how he always looked in control, no matter what wasp was saying he backed himself to take it home. He's a really special player in limited over cricket

Shame they've not shown a single game of his on TV. That's 3 from 3.

Time for some of these games with big players to be shown on freeview TV! What's the point having the likes of Gayle, afridi and mccullum if you don't show the big names playing.

Somerset put a wheelie bin at the non strikers end while Chris scores all of the runs.

Fantastic innings by Ross Whiteley for Worcester tonight vs Yorkshire, live on Sky. 91 off 35 balls with 11 massive 6's. Hitting it miles with his Adidas Pellara, if that's what it really is?!

So Surrey got whopped last night, which was bad news for us. However pimms, beer and lots of food helped me get over it.

Surrey bowled poorly and Middlesex batted well. Then Middlesex bowled well and Surrey had no answer with Roy and Davies out early in the chase.

As I was on a corporate jolly, I didn't get too close to the players to get any good pics of them - but this is what I do have...

The reason these players are playing is because T20 isn't on freeview, clubs wouldn't be able to afford these players without the Sky Sports Money.

Unfortunately we will never see cricket on freeview t.v again.

Quick 100s for both Hales and Roy on the opening days of the RLODC. Also for Vince who may be hanging around squads again in limited overs I guess.

Just curious does anyone know specific rules for loans? My current understanding is you can't play for 2 teams in 1 tournament however div 1 and 2 are separate apparently but what about playing your own team?

Edit : Oops was on mobile and thought this was general county chat!
