Title: Gray-Nicolls Test Match Stand
Post by: thebigginge on May 19, 2015, 12:43:35 PM
Hi Guys,

Juts to let you know that the Gray-Nicolls stand will not be at Lords for the 1st test this week :-(

However we will be at Headingley for the 2nd test.

There will be offers running all summer at the different grounds, I will let you know more as they are finalized.

We will also be attending the following venues during the Ashes: Cardiff, Lords and a welcome return to the Oval!

Sorry that we might miss you this week

Alex

Looking forward to seeing all of you at some point. Always happy to chat cricket, cricket bats, willow and almost anything else (I'm a musician in a past life so any talk of trombones, brass bands etc is always welcome as well

SO....

We will be in attendance at the 2nd Investec Test @ Headingley Stadium.

The Gray-Nicolls bat making stand and retail unit will be located at the bottom end of the East Stand, just before you reach the Rugby Pavilion, the closest gate is St Michaels Lane

As long as there is cricket there will be GN representatives on the stand ready to answer your questions.

We will also have a sale of up to 50% off RRP on some of our older stock, plus we will be taking orders for Custom Made Prestige blades.

If you are there, stop by for a chat.

Cheers

Alex

Will you do refurbs there?

I can do some, but what i am able to do is very very limited.

Minor damage etc normally is OK. I don't carry replacement labels or grips however so if it required that level of work it would need to be returned to the factory.

I dropped my brand new custom one that I only received from you guys a couple of months ago onto concrete. Broke my little heart! Only has a couple of minor dings and stuff, would that be something you could do?

Interestingly County were at Lords, I had a chat to their rep on Friday afternoon.
He had some decent bits of wood, but the stand wasn't as good as the GN one.

Vitas prices for the county bats are somewhat better too...!!

Did you meet Puk (Matt) there? He was very pleased with his little bit of work on Cooks blade

Can't promise anything without looking at it, I wouldn't want you to bring it in and end up gutted!

Buzz we were gutted not to be there. It would have been the 11th year straight of attendance and my 7th consecutive year, we have tried so hard to improve the quality of the stand and the involvement of the public in our exhibits.

However we are booked in for the ashes so we will be back.

I will say hello when you are back then!

having a batmaker at the ground does add something to the experience in my view.

Will be attending my first ODI on the 9th of June at Edgsbaston, will there be any trade stalls there or is that just a test thing.

As a general rule we only do test matches.

What would the benefit be of chopping off one of the shoulders like this?

If you have a very low grip(or at least bottom hand, you can have issues with the shoulder of the bat catching your finger)

You can see how that would happen here.

I believe in Cooks case it was due to the hand injury he has, so possibly he has extra padding on his gloves, or has had to adjust his grip slightly.
