Evening all
While trying to find a jumper today I stumbed a cross this in the club shed.
As that's where kit is chucked when it's no longer needed I rescued it, I couldn't bear to see this end up in a skip when someone decides to have a clear out.
It's in decent condition considering the age (and that its been chucked!)
I plan to remove the scuff sheet to see if it's hiding anything nasty, give the face a light sand then put a new face on there. Hopefully a nice easy job to get her back to her former glory.
Anyway, enough talk, pics!

Great find Cam, wonder why it was dumped (action of a disgruntled user after a golden duck?) ;)
PS - welcome back

lovely find. i went through our club kit the other day most of it was rotten or eaten so it all went in the skip

Decent. I found my old Woodworm Globe in the loft at my parents over the winter. Sent it off to Jake at Vitas to give some TLC then used it in a wet game last week and hit 70 with it, it was still a gun! It's stashed in my bag now as a back up.

The Globe was the best one! I had a flame and was never comfortable with it

Well here's the end result.
I've added an extra layer of binding to the bottom half of the handle (so it feels like a bat again) and added a yellow 'spiral' grip.
Current weight 2lb8 and 1/4. This bat isn't huge my modern standards and does have some very light concaving, but with 26.5mm edges and a 56mm spine it's not tiny either.
Since I got the bat I removed the scuff sheet, took the pre knocked in sticker off, sealed the two cracks and gave a very light sanding. This has left a sticker mark from the pre knocked in sticker, but the bat was in such good condition for its age I couldn't bring myself to sand more of the face off than was needed.
Anyway, here's pictures of the refurbished bat, ready for action!

Another torch update.
This bat goes like something really pingy on pingas! I love it.
I've added some edge tape to try and preserve the life of this bat as long as possible.
The toe guard was lifting so I took that off to find the toe had a few cracks.
I filled those with glue, and as varnish wouldn't have time to dry I have applied a layer of glue to the whole toe (a one game only toe guard before I apply varnish). The cracks are now solid and I can carry on as I was.

Looks great. The one I had disintegrated in the toe but was superb up until then!

I used my Globe the other day on a damp track and hit 70 with it, felt decent still. Glad I saved it. Will have to get some more pictures of it but here's one Jake @Vitas Cricket took whilst it was getting some love:
