Title: Live Cricket - Best Place to Sit?
Post by: 400notout on May 27, 2015, 11:08:22 AM
Trying to find a ticket for the Eng V NZ day nighter in Birmingham. Quite fancy behind the bowlers arm as normal, however heard the Eric Hollies is the party stand and place to be, although never been to a game and sat side on, what would you cricket lovers suggest?

Behind bowlers arm is best place to watch cricket definitely.

We always try to sit at the far end of the Western Terrace at Headingley in the corner so that you can still pick the line up and enjoy the beer fuelled antics.

Sure they'll be somewhere like that at Edgsbaston, always looks like a good place to watch cricket on the TV

Absolutely, as close to behind the bowlers arm as possible.

Eric Hollies is where you'll get all the drinking and 'partying' going on if that's the kind of thing you want. I've sat in the Raglan stand most of the times I've been where you get a view from this angle :

If you can pick your ticket location there's also a bit of a gap in the middle between the rear and front block so if you get a seat in the front row of the rear block you get freedom to stretch your legs out. Only drawback is you can get people walking across in front of you to get to your seats but you're slightly raised from the aisle anyway. Res Wyatt stand I believe is identical but closer to behind the bowlers arm. Infact the Eric Hollies may also be the same.

I've got Ashes tickets in the Eric Hollies - definitely the best stand at Edgbaston. Both the stands behind the bowlers arm are a little 'tame'.
