I prefer a traditional style bat so I went for a G1 butterfly supreme.

I think throughout the range the standout feature is the length of the middle, all of the profiles look based on creating the biggest area for hitting. Thats certainly the way mine feels. I wasn't too sure between a couple of shapes and Paul was able to talk me through them. Definitely get in touch, hes not going to shoot you down!

Senior if it felt a touch bottom heavy for you and it was a pinger why on earth didn't you just get in touch and talk to me about it and I could have done something to alter that. That's part of what I do, I hate people not being totally happy when all it takes is a chat to sort it out. I generally get it pretty much spot on but obviously I'm not going to please everyone but I will do everything I can to do so.

I can vouch for that, I found my Gold Sovereign butterfly a little bottom heavy the first season I had it, I got a little carried away, but I sent it back to Paul at the end of the season and he did a great job reducing it (as much as the profile would tolerate) along with a refurb and now it's spot on for me - and I'm a bit of a weed frankly  :)

My gold sovereign is awesome, in fact I'm keeping an eye out for any similar clefts Paul puts on his Facebook group. There was one the other day but I missed it I think.

I still can't my head around this bat, and can only put it down to possibly a light cleft and most definitely a fine piece of craftsmanship. The spine is huge and almost no concaving at all. I suppose you'd say it has a duckbill though I didn't have a name for that shape when I was talking with Paul in December 2013. The edges aren't small but relatively smaller than most modern shaped bats, but as I aim to hit in the middle of the bat and value most the pick up and weight, I am happy for a big spine and middle rather than a fat edge. This will be my shape for time to come.

duck bill or no duck bill..can you please educate me the differences. to my knowledge duck bill is chunkier than them conventional toes..(i could be wrong)...but yea; i prefer the spine to be longer rather than a fat modern edge..

Very happy with my G1 Butterfly Supreme model. It is no looker (as expected) but picks up beautifully, the finishing is top drawer (supreme has my favourite stickers too) and the performance knocking it in is awesome.
Would definitely recommend an Aldred bat. You pay more for poor quality off the shelf bats. this is a quality, British made product made by humans

Hit a quick fire 70 with it at the weekend including 4 sixes. Nothing wrong with the bat and it feels massive. Cheers Paul
