Can anyone explain the price difference between these pads which, ostensibly, seem virtually identical in spec and look?
Thanks.

I've watched It's Just Cricket reviews on Youtube:
Chris on the Legend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_3D98noqik (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_3D98noqik)
Paul on the Prestige: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZmvZBzVorE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZmvZBzVorE)
It seems to me that the only difference is price; which makes the Prestige a no-brainer. Aren't GN just going to kill sales of the Legend? Anyone out there tried both, and chosen one over the other? Fit/comfort/weight/protection/?

I would swear by the legend pads. Sizings are a bit tricky s/m/l etc. I think the major difference would be thickness of padding and protection. Budget usually decides. Gloves wise, id take the omega (both styles) over either.

That's helpful. Thanks.
Do you mean the Legend may have greater protection for equivalent thickness, or that they'd be thicker? I currently use a Slazenger which I find bulky. They also have a tendency to twist uncomfortably when I run hard, so that I have to re-adjust them non-stop. To prevent them slipping means tightening them to the point of constriction. I've tried on the Prestige (which I found very snug) but can't find a nearby stockist that carries both, for a side-by-side comparison; never mind the choice of size. This may seem like an clear case of GAS [Gear Acquisition Syndrome]. I've played with some great players who couldn't care less about their kit. They'd play without any inhibition in any old thing they could borrow or find lying around, but I find the slightest discomfort or niggle drives me to distraction. I know..'bad workman..tools'. Talk about spoilt for choice.

I have legends and I can tell you they are the best pads I've ever used. Running between the wickets is just flawless, they are about 850g but they feel much much lighter when you wear them. They are just awesome.

Praise indeed. Thanks.

I have had numerous pair of Gray Nicolls Legend pads and they are by far the best pads I have ever bought whilst I have bought over thirty pair of pads in last four years. They are certainly not bulky, they are extremely soft and they wrap very well. After few sessions, after you have sweated in them they will fit even better. Sizing was not issue for me, I am 5.11" and standard mens worked fine for me. If you have any question(s) feel free to ask.

They squeak like hell though...

Yeah but I didn't find it that bad or distracting at all
