Sanga may go top again, though there is talk he's going to retire after the first of three tests vs pakistan, which seems really strange. The ay he's playing another three tests could notch him 500+ runs!

Re; the KP anomaly - clearly the rankings don't subtract points for every test not played in!

That is because he is.

Well done to Steve Smith - worth noting that there are 3 batsmen with over 900 ranking points - which is the first test for a great player.
Worth noting that Tendulkar never made it to 900 ranking points...

He will be! As an Englishman I struggle to say this, but I love watching Smiffy bat, and I find myself willing him on. Hope he gets a test match double ton soon, been out in the 190s twice now! :(

He is great to watch bat. A double ton definitely seems within reach at the moment. Hopefully his form continues through the ashes.

Can't really argue with Smith though, the guys a freak.

Smith isn't on the same level as Williamson in all conditions, Williamson deserves more tests to play! Would call him as the best over Root as Root hasn't scored big runs as widely yet, I'm sure he'll make plenty next Ashes though!
