Hi guys, came across this page as I'm looking for a new bat and found some information on here really useful, so thought I'd post for some advice.
My budget is around £250 and I have come across a few of brands thus far in my search; Sypder bats, TLB, Kelsall and also Spider Cricket. I was wondering if anyone has any brands or bats they would recommend me to look at given my price range etc
Many thanks Tom

Another question Tom is where are you based? I'd recommend popping to see a batmaker and have something knocked up to your specs

Take a look at the Sponsers on here most can make you what you want on your budget

I have had a Kelsall, Red Ink and custom County from Jake at Vitas. All are really nice bats.

Yes I saw a really nice Red ink the other week.

Based in hull so anywhere in Yorkshire is ideal. I know kippax, Nixon and a few others are in Yorkshire.

I agree. Still in the honeymoon period with mine, but a G3 for about £100 in the sale is top value. I'd save the £150 change for something else!

Thanks for the reply; what grade kelsall did you go for? Seen a couple of pics of limited edition grades and they look great

G1, back a couple of years now. A mate of mine borrowed it and wouldn't give it back, so I let him buy it. Goes really well.

I'm Yorkshire based and have had a couple of Nixons that have been great bats. Nick is based in Malton. Kippax also seem very popular at the moment with the large edges, I think PureBlade and Colossus are their current models. About £300 is the going rate currently. Are you fancying a Kippax, just wondered as you posted in the Kippax section?

Not particularly looking at Kippax; accidentally posted as I was originally struggling to find where to post and it ended up in this section

Although have played against quite a few people with kippax bats and they seem to go pretty well

Whoops. Jake's a fine chap, but that definitely wasn't on offer 😅
-
Speak with ryan he makes a very very good bat and will have enough change for pads and gloves
-
You can get a top of the range bat and a middling bat for well within budget. For just over I could make you a top of the range match bat and a lower grade net bat to the same specs.

Tom sent you a message as requested.

Yep - I was beginning to fancy a night out with Jake - a few pints, a curry and a bit of 'customisation'!

Would mentioning 'the finger going up' be lowering the tone?
If so, I won't do it...
