Post by: Wooly on July 07, 2015, 08:47:11 AM
Has anyone had any experience with these bats, or give a bit more info about them ?

Nothing wrong with Hunts bats. I think the 5* is a mid range bat - maybe a grade 2? Steelback disappeared a few years ago judging by the stickers, so the bat might be 3 years or more old, even though it's new. Jake at @Vitas Cricket is our resident Hunts expert.

I have one and it is true it is solid with very good response, but it feels incredibly bottom heavy. It could be I have an older version and those listed are better, but at 2lb 9oz the one I have feels heavier than any other bat I have used (usually around the 2.11/2.12 mark).

I had one, gun middle. It's a really traditional shape, kind of like the 'real' Mjolnir and Purist. At $115, it's a bargain in my eyes. These cost about double that over here from memory when I got mine! It's an older model, so will be around 7-8 years old I think. (At least I think I got mine then!)

I agree Chad, it looks a safe bet and a nice stick.
