Hi guys, went a bit wild, and decided to go for one of these in the Cricmart sale! I've always admired Sangakarra, who is probably my favourite Sub-Continental batsman alongside Dravid. Again, pics first, and edited description and specs later. :)
It currently weighs 2lb 11.4oz, so it will be around 2.12 when finished with a scuff, shoe goo and oil on the back. Heavier than I wanted, but the balance and pick up and ping are superb. The edges are 41mm, with the shoulder being 14mm and the toe being 23mm. Big bat all over, not the biggest for the weight, but certainly not a small bat!

It weighs 2lb 11.4oz with the readjusted handle, which is a bit heavier than I was hoping for. There was a bit of a mix up, and turned out the bat was an ounce and a bit heavier than stated, which Swat offered . However, the balance felt good and a little bit different, and I had been wanting one for ages, so I may just stick with it! (Also had just cracked my match bat SS badly, so was looking for something special to replace such a lovely bat) Service was great with Swat from Cricmart, who is a great guy to chat with too. It just felt a more friendly transaction when compared with OLS, which is something that I look for when dealing with retailers/batmakers. It just gives reassurance that things will turn out good!

Looks like a belter mate.
I just went with some SS Limited Edition batting gloves. If they put the same attention to detail with bats as what they do with gloves, think it will be very difficult to fault.

All SS bats are stonkers.
You will be creaming some awesome boundaries with this beauty.
On a side note; oiling the back???
What the hell for?
You use the front of the bat for gawd sakes...and you are covering that with extratec. No need for oil at all...that went out with SS Jumbo.

Nice bat Chad. Looks a gun with lovely grains.
Swat is a nice bloke and his customer service is one of the best I have come across.
Good luck scoring lot of runs with it.

You use the front of the bat for gawd sakes...and you are covering that with extratec. No need for oil at all...that went out with SS Jumbo.
I always lightly oil a bat all over before applying a scuff sheet :-[

Cheers mate, yes, SS make some of the best bats in the world. Are probably my second favourite brand, after Laver. Scored so many runs with my trusty SS, which I have just repaired!

@Vic Nicholas Yes, every SS bat I've had has been exceptional, this one is no different. :) On oiling the back, the reason I do that is because here in Scotland, we aren't blessed with the drier weather you Aussies get! :-[ I tend just to scuff the face as it is after rounding the edges, and occasionally oil the whole bat and then scuff after a fortnight. I know you're against oil, and you aren't the only one - a fair few folk feel that it does dampen the performance, and just takes away the 'crisp' from some bats. Myself, I am not good enough a player to tell the difference! I have scuffed it now without oiling at all, so at least I haven't committed a sin yet! ;)

Thanks! Yes, Swat is a cracking guy just to have a chat with. It helps that he's so prompt to messages, and gets the gear out to you very quickly! Think mine was ordered on the Wednesday and arrived on the Monday or something like that!

Chad, you could have at least use your Credit Card to show the concaving (then supplied us the CSV) 😀.
Have to agree that the Master is a nice profile and I don't think the 9000 is the highest grade of willow according to the SS pricing structures. Just out of interest are both edges the same height?

I'm with WalkingCricket37. Always give the back of the bat a bit of an oil every now and then.
The time needs a touch up to maintain the moisture levels.
