Is that a butterfly that I see on Warners bat?
-
Yep, when I put the order in for my Warner copy, the guys at GCCC rang me to say that to get such a low density cleft, if will have butterfly stains, graping and heartwood, etc...
-
Low density?

Low density?
Willow, like any natural product has variations in its density from tree to tree. The lower the density, the lighter the bat is for the same volume. There are plenty of the ads on this topic on here, mate. Facinating subject really.

Are they implying that those are not over dried clefts? The weights on those bats are pretty high - 2-13.

I just don't understand how bats of that size can be made there has to be something extreme about the drying process

Of course they will have to be over dried! What I am saying is that at no time was I told that there is a limited warranty on my bat and as far as I am concerned, if it snaps in half in a months time, it will be going back with the expectation of a full replacement. If that happens time and time again, so be it. :)

These 'shop' bats will not be the same as warners ultra low dense and excessively dried bat.
No bat makers gonna supply them to the buying public
His bats will be made to last a couple of decent innings at most, before they turn to dust

If the edges on that thing hadn't been half the width of the bat face, he might not have edged it to Buttler at all.
