I just got received my new custom bat from Jake @Vitas Cricket. The bat looks great and its well balanced, now its time to get used to of this new weight, currently I have an M&H international harrow 2.5 but this new one is a little under 2 10 so want to practice with it before the match. I have a 2 hrs session booked at Old Trafford with a bowling machine, is it ok to use this new bat against those balls?

Knock the edges and toe, then gently play in against the bola. Just don't smash it from ball one...

And where's the review? ;)

This is what I do every time with a new bat, give it a decent knocking in focusing on edges and toes, then face medium pace on the bola and play some drives, gradually increasing pace and weight of shot till I'm happy it's time for a net! Always works well for me, be careful and don't go gung ho but it's a lot more fun that way than banging it with a mallet for hours.

Going there tomorrow for a 2 hrs session...hopefully that will knock the bat properly ;)
