Hi all,
So recently I was in the market for a new match bat as the toe on my SafBats HADES recently started to split through wear and tear. Its been a fantastic bat but fancied a change and through keeping tabs on IJC saw that they were very impressed with Phantom Cricket and their new gear. I had a read on here about Phantom and they seemed a little marmite with people but the Phantom bats Simon posted looked and sounded fantastic so decided to take the plunge. Unfortunately IJC had sold the dark edition they had at the time so I went straight to Aftab (who was excellent to deal with) and although I like to pick up a bat before I buy it, thought I would place my faith in him. The bat was in my hands within a few days and it is a thing of beauty :D!
Just under 2.11lbs, with 39mm edges and a 64mm spin with no concaving anywhere and very pretty willow. For a bat of its size it picks up really nicely. I've had it for about 4 weeks now and have been knocking it in when possible. First impressions are that the willow is quite soft and lightly pressed so am going to give it a few extra hours under the mallet. The middle however is huge and really responsive already (probably aided by the lighter pressing). So far I've been impressed with everything about it and can see where the enthusiasm at IJC has come from. Would thoroughly recommend them to anyone at present!

Lovely bats from one of the best bat makers
I was lucky enough to use one of Simons player spec(slightly cheaper) bats this week from Phantom and I'm highly impressed
This one is 2.9 and picks up very nice
The pressing I would say, is spot on and performance is very good.
I can only imagine how good the dark ed is,,,especially at that weight

I been very impressed with my bats the shadow mark is using is a lovely bat and my dark edition is a gun that's for sure

I like the Phantom logo, but I think the font used on "Dark Edition" looks very tacky, it's like the Unreal Tournament font.

Could anybody tell me if 2.8lb is equal to 2lb8oz if I buy directly from Phantom.I am a weak one,really fuzzy about the weights :)

I also know from experience they very rarely come under 2.10. Talking one or two a year that light at most!

I have a 2 lb 8-9oz Phantom Illusion (brand new) has only hit a few net balls from machine
My dad bought it when in London from IJC as my harlequin is showing signs of wear
Im 20yrs old and only ever had rounded faced Harlequin bats
the Phantom is a belter from the Platinum lounge but doesn't feel same for me with more modern style flat face, square toe (silly I know)
He paid £330 oiled and knocked which is the guarantee, make him an offer if your interested or need more info
