Title: Decent cheap bat
Post by: YorkshireSection on July 17, 2015, 04:51:59 PM
I'm looking for another bat as bad luck hit me twice in a week as one of meagre collection got knocked down a set of stone steps by my poor Mrs and another bat cracked in the nets as some young sod bowled with a chap bat breaker, grrrrr.
Unfortunately for me I'm not flush anymore as I've got a disability/illness blah blah blah that's hugely affected my brain and rendered me disabled, cricket is my one salvation.
I'm now down to one bat! (Unheard of on here) but I'm looking as the title says to get purchasing.
I've had a look at eBay and there's a few potential bargains to be had, I've even had a look on sports direct to see what they're offering up, but ultimately I'm asking for advice here.
Has anyone seen anything half decent and cheap knocking about, I've been in and out the game for a while so hardly have my finger on the pulse, any advice will be greatly excepted.

Thanks

What sort of budget did you have in mind?

Personally, I'd stay well clear of SportsDirect, EBay, can be hit and miss at the best of times, although I managed to pick up a very nice retro SS Jumbo for a fraction of the retail price!

Have you tried Raje Sports in Dewsbury? I've got a couple of absolute bargains from him over the years including a custom made beauty.

It's worth a punt if his reputation in these parts is anything to go by!

To 45.00 I picked up a few they had 6 reasonable straight grains the ones at 9.00 pinged better than expected they all had plenty of wood in them but to me they felt heavy
