Title: GN refurbs
Post by: WalkingWicket37 on July 27, 2015, 12:02:54 PM
Afternoon all

I'm eyeing up the Gray Nicolls range for next year, but instead of buying a load of new bats I'm tempted by just the softs and sending a couple of my current sticks to them for a refurb.

They say that there are now generic stickers for third party bats, does anyone know what they look like?
£30 for a refurb is much more appealing than trying to sell used bats and buying brand new ones again!  :-[

Probably something along the lines of these.

There are photos on here showing GN refurbs with GN stickers which are simular to the ones on the above bat.

They will be 3rd party bats so they only put generic stickers on.
I've got a lovely old blank that would've looked great with Powerspot stickers too...  :(

A mate just sent his 909 GM to Salix for a refurb and they've returned it with full Salix stickers. A definite improvement!

Hi @thebigginge - could you let us know if these are the refurb stickers for 3rd party bats?

The ones in the picture are not quite the Generic refurbishment ones that we have.

As mentioned they are more Red/White with a different front label.

Hi @thebigginge  - can't PM you as your inbox is full - If you refurb a Dynadrive, can you replace the stickers in the rear grooves?

Also, question for all before I make contact with them, does anyone know the current cost of GN re-furbs?

Last time I asked GN to fix my bat they broke it even more and wouldn't admit liability even though they didnt even replace the handle properly, which was clear from the poor looking refurb. Completely gone off GN bats because of this

Well, I just need cleaing up, stickering and a crack glued, so hopefully they wouldn't cock that up!

They'll probably put a Tuff toe on it just for the sake of it...

Bumping an old thread since there is an existing one.

Usually do my own refurbs (except handles) but in this case, I had bought a bat on here that was badly delaminated but had very little open cracking on the face and I wasn't able to get any glue into the air pocket.

GN's reviews have had mixed reviews on here previously, but photos of them fixing delamination on their twitter feed convinced me that they were the go to guys for this job. The bat probably actually looks worse now as they have had to cut it open in a few places to get the glue in, but they've cleaned it up well, added some lovely classic stickers and most importantly the delamination is gone and the performance is miles better than it was.

Did not expect to get genuine GN stickers applied so that was a nice bonus as they're nicer than the generic repaired by ones.
