What do you guys think - looking like some other thigh guards ;) hmm?
-
They look good, although the inner guard could do with covering the inside of the thigh a little better.
Seem a similar product to another I have seen, but can't remember where.

I agree with Buzz on this.
But they look good no doubt.

I would say they that they are an exact replica to the moonwalkr ones with hammer logos.

Replica. Or merely made by moonwalked for hammer.
-
Never heard of moonwalkr until this thread does anyone in the UK stock? How does the dark blue look under whites? Surely they will show through?
-
Same as the affinity ones that Marcus sells
-
I only briefly watched the youtube video, but it seemed to me that the outside thigh pad was really short.
Covered the hip well, but would leave a huge gap between leg guard and thigh pad.
-
I've seen a few ipl players using these saw them on the net
-
They look exactly the same as my moonwalkr ones. I haven't seen the ones from affinity but I think somebody said they are also the same.
I love my pair and use them over my p2 as they are less bulky and have thicker straps so move less. Protection is also decent.
I haven't noticed the blue colour through the trousers.

I couldn't take it seriously when he compared them to Remfry & Stretton Fox guards!
Looking at the design (and by the fact they're an off the shelf product) aren't they more a direct competitor to Aero Strippers than the bespoke heavyweights of the thigh guard world?
-
Asking $50 for those seems a tad excessive. However a great mark up for what you can get them via moonwlkr for

I haven't seen one review from him that I could take seriously.

@skip1973 that's the first one I've actually watched and I don't think I'll be catching up on his back catalogue on the back of it...
-
You can get them online on indian stores but i saw that postage costed quite a bit
-
i got mine posted for about £22 i think from an indian supplier.
i would say they are in competition with aero strippers certainly not a touch on the stretton fox thigh pads i had.
i didnt actually watch the much of the video

Yep, like ecplipse all sports, they're not reviews they're just adverts. "This bat is absolutely amazing in every possible way!" about every single bat they sell, what use is that to anyone?
-
has anyone done a full 'impartial' review on these yet?

cracked when he compared them to stretton's & remfry's. it may have good protection but c'mon stretton & remfry...lolz :D
jason you sir are a donut
-
lol ikr, the only pad that it compares to is Aero
-
Such nice people on this forum. Calling the bloke a donut....
Seriously, why don't you yourself do a review on anything? It's easy to criticise but harder to have a crack and do one yourself.

I think the critics are referring to the fact that he has taken a cheap thigh guard set made my moonwalkr and has branded them as his own and states they give protection on par to Stretton Fox and other high end sets. Plus his mark up on the pads are high to what you can them from the source.
I don't think people are saying he is a terrible chap just very elaborate in his descriptive terms.

It's a sales pitch not a review.

Let me do a small reveiw of these since I own a set of these "Moonwalkr" & Aero thigh guard.
Protection - Very Good, as good or better than Aero
Design & Make - Very Good, very flexible, more body shaped than Aero but I am sure (as I don't own but know) not as body shaped as what Strettons are.
Value - Value for money if bought directly from an Indian supplier
Cons - Marginally heavier than Aero, hip protector is really big and feels awkward (biggest turn off for me)
I am around 5.10 in height and the std. mens size Moonwalkr thigh guard is slightly big for me specially the Hip guard, I would love to use one without the hip guard else I would probably have to try Youth size in this maybe. On using it I don't notice it much and it protects well, straps and everything is well made.
I use Aero in matches & these Moonwalkr in nets till the time I get used to it's hip protector.
-
Thanks for the info
-
Oh so they are big? So they wont fit a 5 ft 7?
-
i'm 6ft2 and find the hip guard is a slightly tall but i soon got used to it and it hasnt bothered me in matches
