There's a bat I'm currently keen on that is from a few years ago. It's a Puma Ballistic in the classic shape and would probably be from close to 9 years ago, maybe a bit less at 7 or 8. It's new and a shop is selling it at a pretty cheap price (I wanted it months ago but thought I'd wait. Now it has come down in price since) , but no idea if I should buy it as not sure if that's too long sitting around.
Tapped it up and it felt good, but wasn't a proper ball so not sure there. It reminds me of the scat I had a few years back.
Just after some opinions :)

Should be ok.
Will need a chunk of knocking in and a good oil.

If it's that old if be inclined to remove the scuff sheet (if there is one applied), give it a fine sanding and a generous oiling, then knock it in really thoroughly.
-
Without doubt it will be dry if you purchase it do as suggested
-
I'd also be tempted to leave it in a bathroom for a couple of days after sanding and before oiling, but that's just me

Yeah, I really like the shape, but the age is just a concern. Cheers for all the input everyone :), I will go have another look and see if I can resist.

She'll be fine. I buy new old stock bats from time to time and have never had a problem, I don't prepare them any different to a newer bat and have yet to have a problem with any of them

I'd remove the scuff sheet if you can, and give it a really good oil, should be fine after that
