Title: Questions on part made clefts
Post by: nickpain77 on August 13, 2015, 09:13:46 AM
Can you buy part makes with the handle already binded ?
Is there such thing as a junior cleft ?
I'd so Are junior clefts cheaper ?

for junior bats - you may be better off buying some junior bats from MSR and reshaping them - that is what I have done for my son.

As for binding the handle - it isn't that bad, just takes time when you do it by hand

Yes you can buy part-mades to which ever degree you want, you just need to discuss it with the bat maker if he's friendly enough ;)
You can buy different size clefts from willow suppliers, the sizing and naming varies from supplier and they can be considerably cheaper. They are often full size clefts that have had to be chopped down due to splitting from drying.

Do you have any suppliers in mind that can do reasonable prices

I have had part makes from both Red Ink and Blank Bats.

I'd happily recommend either of them and their prices.

I believe H4L can offer them too.

None I have had have been binded but I'm sure that could be done. I found it easy to do myself, just time consuming. I was lucky to have the cricket on the TV at the time.
