Am delighted.

I've also got the same two sets of boots. I know this will be controversial but I find them much better than the asics boots I've owned previously
-
I second that. NB make the best cricket shoes out there imo
My collection

Very nice.
How wide are they compared to other makes and is it a specific sale going on?

Thats not controversial! I found the exact same thing. Same type of boots here in Australia with Asics are at lease a third the price again for an equivalent product.
I got the blue 4030s at the end of 2013/14 summer and have been very impressed.
-
Given the love shown in this thread, have gone for a pair of the 4020. They have a reputation to live up to now.

Ive used the bowling boots (Velcro support strap) all season. My only complaint is that the spikes keep coming loose and I end up with one less every 3rd game or so. Not a major issue but have to ensure they are tight before every game. Maybe just a bad batch but didn't have this issue with last years Asics Speed Menace.

I don't have the bowling boots but do have a pair of the 4030's never had any issues with spikes falling out, although my issue with them is the build quality. i had a pair of nike spikes for at least 4-5 seasons and they are still in decent shape now, these new balance have started the separate from the soles after a season of use.

Great if you are size 13.5, but I could probably fit both feet in one boot :D

Not sure why its showing those ones but if you click on the white/blue versions there is pretty much a full size run 7-12 & 14, not bad at 36 quid + free delivery
-
So tempted, but never been let down with asics spikes or rugger boots. Do I dare change!?

Went for the CK4020's at 28 delivered. cheers for the heads up guys.

Tempted, but just can't get my head around not having a single front spike to mark your guard with! (I like marking my guard well and do fairly regularly get a sledge referencing Trott...)

I really can't believe this is a thing - I saw mention of this on the IJC review as well.
You will still be able to mark you guard by tilting your foot slightly to mark your guard with a different spike.
Having the spikes in the right place for your foot is rather more important than having one at the front for marking your guard!

I'm with Buzz on this one.
I always mark my guard with the inside spikes Feels weird trying to use anything else

Ha, agreed it shouldn't really be at the top of priorities! Never had any issues with conventional spike placement though, and old habits die hard ;) I'm sure I'd get used to it no problem, but then again I'm also sure it would irritate the hell out of me for a few games at least.

That's down right weird, I use the outside :D
who's setting up a poll? :)
-
Next you will be asking do you face the umpire to mark your guard or face the keeper..!
(Inside and keeper for me)
Just do what is comfortable

Inside and umpire for me. If you turn your back on the umpire for too long, they can do weird things during your innings by getting involved!

Both... Not sure I always do one first, but start from the crease and mark both down the track and towards the stumps in turn.
-
I use the inside stud of the boot.
And I face the stumps. As I bat that deep in my crease, I'd knock the stumps over trying to mark it facing the umps.
-
Always take middle by facing the stumps and drawing a line from middle stump to crease then turn round put bat on marked line and ask the umpire for middle stump.

What do you do when you get it wrong?

Get out bowled leaving the ball.

Got my 4020 delivered just now, they look and feel much better than asics Peake 3 to me at least.

As sad as it sounds i actually only have 1 of those two spikes in 1 boot so i can mark my guard correctly, even tilting my foot left two lines :-[

Wore mine for the 1st time yesterday, batted for over 30 overs and had to do a lot of running. They're fantastic, very comfortable and supportive. They've even got decent protection against the odd toe-crusher. I see the prices have tumbled even further, you can get 11s for only £27, which is a total steal.
Oh and I didn't seem to find too much problem marking my guard...

Has anyone ordered the blue/green 4020 rubbers? The website shows a discrepancy between the photos and description, the photo shows the blue shoe but wording says white/green. Should I order according to the photo or wording?

Astonishing prices. Pair of spikes and pair of rubbers for £50 is ridiculous.
@rawpace, I've gone with the wording. Will have to wait and see what turns up.

Not bad for £21 delivered, super comfy on first inspection

A quick update on this - the Green and White wording on the 4020s resulted in the Blue and Yellow colourway as pictured below, matching the picture rather than the wording. Have to agree on comfort for the price. Amazing value... And I'm happy with the colour either way at £21.
The Green and White 4040 resulted in Green and White spikes. Haven't walked around in them yet - don't want to make holes in a wood floor. Also an amazing bargain at £28.
I note on Amazon that the 4040 is now out of stock and the 4020 has now gone up to £38.21 in my size.
-
I've been an Asics boy all my life, but these look wonderful!!!
-
Picked up a pair of size 10 for £16.50 inc delivery!
As long as they fit, a bit of a bargain!
-
Hey guys - do these come up normal shoe size? I'm normally an 11 in shoes, but with my Asics spikes I went up to a 12. Anyone know if these are standard fit or bigger / smaller than normal?
-
My normal shoe size is 10, I bought my NB in size 11 (my usual size for cricket footwear) and they're a perfect fit with cricket socks.
-
I'm normally a 12 in cricket boots and these seem to fit just fine as 12s.
-
Pretty standard sizing for me. I'm in the market for some new boots after the sole gave away from the bottom of the boot on my front bowling foot after a season and a half. Not sure what Im going to go for this time, may go for NB again as at the prices they are going for 1 and a half seasons wear is still a huge bargain.

@shamelessshaun as a fellow Cumbrian you can get some good deals at the NB factory shop at Flimby, not sure if they do the spikes or not but a lad at our club got a new set of rubbers from them for a steal.
Just like to point out the factory shop is open to non-Cumbrians too but A) you might not understand what the staff are saying and B) it's miles away from anywhere else in the world haha

Yeah well aware of the shop there, its where most of my trainers are purchased from, not had a look for boots however.
-
found these also, pretty cheap in sizes 8 & 8.5 then regular from there. not sure on the quality of the boot itself tho.

No worries, just checking as it's surprising even the amount of locals who don't know it's there! I'd never thought of getting cricket shoes there either until a lad from our club mentioned it.
