Title: Bat advice
Post by: Mel Jessop on August 19, 2015, 03:01:05 PM
Ok, where to start, I returned to cricket after a 20odd yr absence, needed a bat back in June, didn't have a big budget so settled on a BDM, whilst an ok bat it doesn't really suit me tbh, so to the question, who do you guys trust to pick the best cleft for you, make the best possible use of that cleft, who would it be Aldred, red ink, b3, h4l, or ??? I'm not interested in looks and again budget would be an issue, perhaps max being £150 ish? But would like most bangs for my buck!

For your budget. @Red Ink Cricket is your man. Has made me two spot on bats and his customer service is exceptional.

Look out for a b3 butterfly offer when there back on there feet to. As there exceptional value and performaing sticks!

As above, most sponsors would be able to sort you out something pretty darn good for that budget, whether it be a H4L devil, a Red Ink X3 or an Aldred/B3 Butterfly, I personally doubt you'd go far wrong with any of them. I can only speak from personal experience about H4L but Matt is great to deal with.

You won't go wrong with Red Ink there's been some stunners on here recently also as a forum member John normally gives you a discount.

I have 2 H4L's (devil and grade 2) and an Aldred (butterfly). I can say that there is not much between them and are all excellent. However, for your budget Paul Aldred will make you what you want whereas a H4L will be an off the shelf Devil grade.
