Title: Ian Bells stick specs
Post by: Slogger on September 02, 2015, 06:02:21 AM
Hi All,
Does anyone have any insight into the specs of the bat Ian Bell uses in tests? I'm particularly interested in the handle and grip. Just looking at photos I reckon he possibly TRIPLE grips them? So different to the super skinny handle trend that was popular.
Cheers,
Ben

You could always ask him on twitter - he's got a bit of time on his hands at the mo!

At least two grips - top grip octopus.  Don't know weight I'm afraid

I don't know if they do anymore but I know Hawk used to make them for him when he was when he 'used' the Incurza.

Funnily enough I have one of Ian Bells bats at home,

Its light weighs 2.9 on the scales but with a pick up around 2-7/8.
round handle very skinny. Not a lot of concaving, grains are lovely dead straight.

I don't know how to put pictures on here but if you send over your email address will be more than happy to send some pics over

With 3 grips his bat must weigh a feather!

Thanks heaps Buzz.

I find it interesting how differently players go about it.......even at  the top level.

great stuff from the forum again

I think a lot of the top guys use lighter bats than we imagine :)

^agreed though I very much doubt that 2.8 is inclusive of the three grips...

2'8 +3 grips would be around 2'10 - depending on grip type.
