That melancholy time has come around again. The last game has been played and it's time to squirrel the kit away for the winter months.
Here is the question - where do you keep your pride and joy?
- As a owner of a loft for the first time, is this a sensible place to pop it?
- In the garage / shed?
- Leave it strewn across the spare room?
- A temperature regulated man cave somewhere in the same post code?
Cheers

bats stored in the cupboard with the suits, the rest of the kit can stay in the garage.
The loft may vary considerably in temperature over the winter with central heating and cold.
just my view.
stick it in the shed at the end of the garden and it will be mouldy when you go to unpack it which will mean a you have to order a whole new set of kit...

I store my bats in the loft, I stand them with 2 duvets wrapped round for heat and cold protection. Seems to do the trick. I also try to oil them and let them lay for a bit to soak in. Softs ok in bag. Shoes cleaned off and ready for next year.

The only place they should be kept is in the living room. This way, when any visitors come round and express an interest in cricket you can get all your bats out, demonstrate your favourite shots and discuss the performance of each as you tap them up with a cricket ball.
additionally, it really annoys the missus and gives you a bit of bargaining power for when you may need it.

The best place due to ventilation to to store bats If you have one is a brick build garage take bats out of sleeves to allow the willow to breathe. Also leave all my other kit in the garage in kitbag and cover the bags with a car cover. Used to put kit bags (not Bats) in loft but it became an hassle as other stuff was thrown on top.

I personally give mine a light coat of oil and leave in a brick outbuilding just lightly covered with a towel or sheet etc incase it gets super cold, never caused a problem for me.

My kit all stays in the spare room or my bedroom.
I leave most things in my bag, and make sure bats are well away from radiators. I've not had a problem caused by storing my bats yet.
-
I place my kit on top of the wardrobe in my duffle. Bats are placed within the wardrobe away from the radiator.

Softs go in my bag which is usually stood in the corner of my room. Bats go in their covers and get left under the bed, where they're usually safe from heat/cold and the threat of someone knocking them into something that could damage them, as was the issue when I used to store them in the loft.

I'm with Buzz on this one. My match bats also live in my cupboard with my suits. Softs go up in the loft. It gets cold up there, but never below freezing and its dry.
I've stored stuff in the shed in the past (fortunately well used and supposed to be going to charity) and it all ended up mouldy and in the bin.
Mongoose lives in a little cupboard we have which is relatively cool, but not big enough for the rest of the bats!

All gets stored in a cupboard in the house with other various sporting items (golf clubs, squash rackets, snooker cue etc..) Normally empty the kit bag to get rid of all the rubbish accumulated over the season, which tends to be a lot. Also tried the shed, not a good idea with the wet and cold winters, kit comes off second best.

Stays where most of my belongings are which is my truck

Bats go under the stairs away from radiators and my wife ;) , whites into the bottom of the wardrobe and softs in my bag in the garage. Boots occasionally cleaned and zipped into a boot bag. Might clean my boots properly this year as they were new at the start of the season.

What are you lot on? Just because it's winter doesn't mean you stop using your kit.
I keep playing as long as I can, then use them for indoor nets, forum meets - any excuse in fact. My kit never goes away it just gets dumped in the porch between events.
-
My stuff stays in my car boot as I like to try and get to as many winter nets , indoor games a s possible over the winter.
when I take the bag out it tends to go in the loft and bats usually go in the driest coldest room in the house. Has been the dining room last few years but after moving last November it may have to be the loft this time around.

Same here, my kit never moves as I'm using it all year round! Not netting as much as I used to, but still play indoor cricket every week.

My kit always stays in the car since I haven't got much space in my flat.
