The post game jugs tasted ever so sweet despite being Carling!

Well done Jake, top effort to get 162 out of 253!!!!
-
Well batted lad
Who was to blame for Robin's run out? ;)
-
Excellent work mate, now kick on and get more!

Robin had too many redbulls, hit the ball straight to their best fielders good arm and called me through. Direct hit.

How absolutely tremendous young Jakeus - I'm very happy for you.
Did you crack a smile? :)
-
Well done mate, the 1st one is always the most memorable!
Nice to make it a big one as well as I usually scrape over 100 then loose the plot pretty quickly after that.
-
Congrats! 88 is my bogey number - just two hits...
Which bat helped you there?

I like that haha "never mind your hundred, tell us more about your bat" :D

Top stuff mate!! I waited 14 years for my first (and only) ton!!
Love it
-
Well done buddy. I was thinking to start a thread where people will mention their bat that they used to hit the century.
-
Outrageously slow start and then cashed in, well batted sir! Still kicking myself for giving it away on 97 a couple of seasons ago.
-
Nice scorecard. Very patient start.

Ha, of course Brucie :)
Thanks for all the kind words guys, much appreciated
Strike rate was fairly slow for me, admittedly i don't normally bat for an entire innings, but it didn't feel like a ridiculously slow start, got to 50 off 65 balls. Lots of dots early on as the wicket was a little tricky at 1130am before the sun got to it.

Is that a picture of it in it's current state?
-
well done jake! :)

15 years for a first ton I think I would have pack in. Seriously though it got me thinking as a 19 yearold my club had an ex county professional first team Skipper who's words were never questioned at the beginning of the season he would say to me and his number 2 3 4 batsman : I want a century From you lot before the end of June or you will spend the rest of the season in the seconds.
-
Well done Jake!! And you went big too! SWWWEEEEEEEEEEEETTT!
-
Excellent work! Not only the Ton club but the 150 club. Which is even more illustrious club to have joined.
Now to go back to back!!

Shows the importance of staying in. Very roughly if you break the innings down into 5 parts:-
1st 28 balls - 10 runs - 2 boundaries - S/R 35.7
2nd 28 Balls - 22 runs - 3 boundaries - S/R 78.6
3rd 28 Balls - 47 runs - 7 boundaries - S/R 167.8
4th 28 Balls - 32 runs - 5 boundaries - S/R 114.3
Last 29 Balls - 51 runs - 7 boundaries - S/R 182.1
Strike Rates are naturally affected in some way by the bowling but I bet most big knocks follow a similar pattern.

I suspect the strike rate has dropped in the 4th set of 28 balls as these balls straddled the lunch break.

Congrats big man. its a great felling isn't it :D :D Plenty more to come now I hope.

Not wishing to detract from Jakes excellent performance a century I remember was in a Sunday league match when I reached one hundred I could see teammates jumping around getting excited and shouting I thought blimey they really really appreciated that it wasn't until I was out that i found out it wasn't my century that they were cheering the Captain and one of the our players had had a punch up at the back of the pavilion over the batting order !
