Title: Australian Refurbishment GN
Post by: Jacky on September 17, 2015, 10:05:21 AM
Hello guys,

With the Australian summer fast approaching another season of cricket is upon us, however my A61 is looking a little worse for wear and was wondering if anyone had any information about GN Australia offering an official refurbishment service, as I would like new stickers applied and a bat sand. Any information regarding price and so on would be great.

Kind regards

Post some pictures of the bat fella?

You might be able to refurbish it yourself if the stickers are salvageable.
If you've got your heart set on new stickers though, just ignore me (most people do anyway...)

Mate check with Greg Chappell CC I'm fairly sure they send bats of to GN for repairs and refurbish, sand, buff and roll cost $120 which includes re-stickered downside is takes about 14 working days

Where in Australia are you? If you're near Melbourne I could do it for you and I've saved stickers before.

This is correct. GCCC forward bats to GN for refurbishment. I was unable to deal with GN direct.

Where abouts in OZ are you? I'd check out Dingbat Sports or Willowizard if I were in VIC. I've heard really good reports about their refurbs. Apparently JP Gavan is improving his skills in Sydney.

Based in little old Adelaide, and unfortunately the stickers are not savable, which is partly why I'd like to send to GN.

That's fair enough. I'd send Lachlan Dinger of Dingbat Sports an email anyway. Apparently he does a lot of the outsourced bat refurbs offered by retailers and there might be an outside chance of him having those stickers hanging around.

I've had a bat re-handled and also a weight reduction by GN through gccc.

Both times I was extremely disappointed with the condition the bat returned in. I even sent the bat back after the re-handle due to the state it returned in.

Have a go yourself. It's really not that hard

I have previously sent my old GN Players back to GN for a refurbish and rehandle (through GCCC) and was super impressed with the way it came back. It came back looking like it had just rolled off the factory floor.

GN replaced the stickers and did a fantastic job on the willow. Only gripe was the handle shape came back slightly different (a little thinner) but aside from that - top job. I couldn't fault it.
