Hi Guys and Galls,
I was just looking at avery nice Puma Ballistic 6000 on E bay, it is brand new and a rather lovely looking bat, it has a handle which is described as "Patented carbon composite / injected foam handle ". Is this an ilegal bat and would you be allowed to play with it in a competitive match. As i thought i read some where that thehandle has to be 90% cane and it is only allowed to be 10% graphite foam twine etc? I would appreciate any help guys?

post some links to it please

There you go guys thats the page/link i don't know much about it other than what i have read and i just thought the law about the construction of the bats and their stood for all. Maybe some of the bat makers on here could shed some light on it?

there is nothing illegal about you buying this bat ever. You cant get in trouble for using it or anything like that, Because the bat wouldve been made by the date that was specified by the MCC when they changed the law.

Cheers for that!!! Just that i know one umpire in particular down here in South Devon whois a stickler for checking bats and he seems to spot bats that are a little different a mile away!! I just dont want to be sent of to the pavillion if he states the MCC 2008 rule on bat constructon.

nah i am not i still use a dodgy old linen covered slazenger that was £15 brand new from a sports direct style shop every now and then and the linen has come of and it is full of knots and dents but it feels perfect i can hit a ball just as well with that. I like all bats and its when you pick them up you know whether its right for you or not and i have seen guys spend the best part of £300 on a bat and becauese they have not knocked it in properly it has just fell apart after a few months.
