Post by: smilley792 on September 27, 2015, 08:12:40 PM
Who's interested and what's your best days and times.

Remember dotball is on the outskirts of Sheffield. 5mins from m1 junction 31.

Itching to have a hit with that new purchase Chris?

Give it a few months & if you're still netting I'll come and bowl some buffet to hit into next week

The Warner bat won't see an indoor net. I don't trust the balls or floor when a Yorker arrives.

I'll be available some times, from 6:30/7:00ish onwards, depending what day it is.

Manchester. Club's nets don't start until february and I have pretty much no one interested in going netting over winter. I hate bowling machines too much to go on my own.

Manchester a big trip across! But your welcome when we do it.

Not many suggestions for a day yet.

Just realised I can't do Wednesday's from the 7th of October onwards.

And presume net be starting around 7 and going on until 8 or 9 dependant on how many attend.

And I hopefully intend to do more than one over the winter months.

11th or 12th works for me, I am away this weekend. Anybody have the means to record this session?
Title: Re: Winter nets at dotball.
Post by: smilley792 on September 28, 2015, 09:31:29 AM
I'm sure there's a few go pro's around. I just can't attach it to my helmet as the head strap doesn't stay on the ayrtek. And masuri wearers are happy to go in with it though.

I'm gonna add @Kieron_BT and @jamferg to the convo see if I can get some interest from fellow Sheffield players.

But would prefer the 11th.

Title: Re: Winter nets at dotball.

Could I make a suggestion that we aim for either 7 or 8 players per session. Less than 7 and you then some weary bowlers by midway through the 2nd hour.

We have to aim for as many as we get.
hopefully 8 for a 15 min bat each
But if it drops to six may be better for an hour and 10 mins. Or just 1 hour and a half if dotball will let us.

2.15 in total with both grips on, so 2.13 ish I'd say.

It's one of the lightest I own.

Once again enjoyed our net session at DotBall. I actually get quite a lot out of bowling against other other forum members because I play (in comparision to the other attendees) a poor standard of 2nd XI cricket but most of the opposition teams have a couple of decent bats which they base their innings around.

Good news and bad news.

Good news is I've managed to recover the lost files. So your all on camera.
Bad news is I'm ridiculously rubbish at editing and it's taking far too long. So doing it in sections.

First up. Simmy, bash and myself. Plus a little battle at the end I wasn't good enough for.

12 mins each batting was a tad extreme.

I watched and picked a few bad shots to mix in with the big hits, a few defenses to keep the pursuits happy too.

I got your dropped catch on there too. Sorry @RF

May do a bloopers real a few moments, switch hitting net, beamers getting stuck in net simmy abusing me, etc.

@qasim_aziz99 I noticed I have a slight trigger too, not sure when that started! Good to learn things.

Qasim left a few, he was by far the most sensible batsmen on the net.
