Title: 13th October - Our visit to H4L
Post by: Vitas Cricket on October 08, 2015, 10:53:17 AM
We are off to H4L next week to pick our 2016 bats. I'm sure many of you have seen the Warbird we had exclusively at the end of the UK Summer, if you are keen to get one, or any of the fantastic H4L range, please do get in touch.

H4L prices are going up for 2016, with RRPs now set as below:

Pro £375 (up from £350 in 2015)
G1 £295 (up from £280 in 2015)
G2 £215 (up from £210 in 2015)

We are visiting H4L on Tuesday 13th October and for anyone who pre-orders a bat before our visit, we will keep our pricing at 2015 levels as below. I'll also knock in any bats ordered before the 13th for free. :)

Pro £300
G1 £250
G2 £195

I haven't seen Matts softs yet but I suspect as always they will be extremely high quality, I will price these on demand if required.

Any pre-order customers are free to pay a non refundable deposit of £50 (or more if you like) with the balance payable before dispatch.

If you can get any pics of the softs prior to your visit, that would be a great help.

If I was to preorder, do you need payment upfront or is it a case of a deposit at point of order followed by the balance at a later date?

We've taken roughly 20 bats today, I'll post pics of those on Thursday in the shop. Lots more (some of which are pictured here) are to be finished off and stickered over the next week or so.

Some stunning bats that greeted us in the display rack on arrival.

Qualitybat cover that comes with all of H4Ls new top end model, the custom.

Looks a lovely bit of wood doesn't it?

A shame this completely unpreventable and unpredictable damage has occurred during manufacture. This cleft is now firewood. This sort of wastage must be covered by batmakers/brands and monetary losses from damage like this add up. Please remember this when passing judgement on bat pricing!

We also have softs, the all white custom softs are incredible and will be very popular. More details and photos on Thurs.

Fantastic day with Matt, the 4 hour journey (thanks A1 & M25) was worth it as we got to pick out some truly stunning bats. Taking a few sets of the new softs was also a welcome bonus.

The new embossed logos and little touches like the updated Hellfire colours (more red) have made the range even more attractive for 2016.

Love H4L kit, I'd say it's the strongest range of any brand for 2016 on design/quality/consistency - if it wasn't for Neon they'd be my first choice for kit by a country mile (I'm very tempted as it is). Looking forward to seeing the custom bats!

Can't get over the prices for those custom softs though, eye watering :( (However beautiful they are!!)

Absolutely love the look of everything.  H4L really going for it with their softs for 2016 - upping the ante!

Can't quite understand why the Pro and G1 gloves are only £5 apart in price, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

Price point wise there is a bit of a clash, and the quality is very comparable (aside from the G1 not having a pittard palm) but the G1 is a sausage finger whereas the pro is a split, so we felt it best to offer both options.

OK fair enough, Jake.  I haven't actually seen the new softs in the flesh yet - only in photos - so perhaps a bit of a premature comment! I hope you left some good bats for me to look through on Tuesday! If not, hope Matt manages to make some new sticks in time - looks like you cleaned him out!  :)

In addition to the bats in the bat rack pictured earlier in this topic, the second lot of bats we selected from Matt have arrived today, we are still waiting on a few junior bats and some custom mades we arranged during our visit.

We have some more bats coming shortly from H4L, so maybe, but it is rare to get bats lighter than 2'8/2'9 from H4L. Have a read of this topic for more info on the Warbird:

If you are looking for a new bat @hell4leather cricket come highly recommended from me. The Hellfire Pro i used this year which was IJC's bat of the month is an absolute gun.

47mm edges, unsure on spine as its now boxed up and ready to go out to the customer, just shy of 3lb. Based on Matt Coles profile.

Having seen how well light H4Ls ping, I honestly feel sorry for any bowler who comes up against anyone wielding a 3lb one!

There is a bow, but its pretty subtle.

That's an interesting development!  ;)

The Custom that i've already got is ridiculous to be honest, its around 45mm edges & 65mm spine with no concaving at all. The middle on it is lovely

I've got a 3lb Hellfire Monster with a convex profile and it's a beast so I can imagine your 2 are similarly pingalicious haha

Wicked that !!!
Howz the pick up on that one northernboy?? From my experience- full profiled bats even with a mid swell feel a tad bottom heavy. I had a full SS ton Gladiator & a SF Optimus - pinged very well but an avg pick up I'd say

Isn't that just a handled cleft that's been sanded?  ;)

It's hard to say I mean it's obviously pretty heavy but it is fairly well balanced. It's the ping on it that's the most impressive (I guess it should be for it's size!) the whole bat pings like crazy, from toe to stickers.

Just a reminder amongst the hysteria on the forum that we still have the full range of h4l bats in stock, we are also nearly into double figures in terms of top of the line Customs for our customers both on and off the forum.

Anyone looking to arrange a Custom through us is not only welcome to the fantastic price of £375 with free delivery and a free padded leather bat cover. But I'll knock it in for free too.

This is an ongoing offer for 2016

True Jake you know good wood in your hands... Running your fingers along its spine feeling the swell under your soft touch, caressing it's thick edges, feeling it harden with every thrust of the Lignum vitae, slowly rubbing oil into its soft fibres making it moist and supple...

Oh ummm yeah mate we know you pick a good bat  :( :o :( :) ;) :D
