Title: Vitas Cricket Forum Event - Saturday November 28th 2015
Post by: Vitas Cricket on October 08, 2015, 12:49:25 PM
We've got another forum event lined up, similar format to our previous ones, details of which can be found here:

http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=32171.0 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=32171.0)

We will be open from 9am but due to travel most people arrive around 11am, with the event going on for as long as people want to stick around.
The net and bowling machine will be free for anyone to use during the day, with a range of demo bats to try, including a new Salix Raw short blade.
We'll provide some refreshment in the form of a cricket tea, cakes, beers, softs drinks etc.

There will be some in-store discounts only available to attendees as well as hopefully a number of interesting people/product launches on the day, will confirm details of those as and when i can.

Any questions, ideas, declarations of attendance etc please feel free to post :)

Good to hear some healthy numbers guys.

I'll get some cool product launches lined up. I think Bellingham and Smith will have their new range (or at least samples) ready to go by then. @StrettonFox Sports as always you are welcome and it sounds like you have lots of goodies lined up for 2016?

Of course, much of the 2016 stock will be in store and ready to go, i will endeavour to prepare some sort of surprise though, stay patient with me :)

Jus to confirm, the entire range of GM 2016 test bats will be available to try in our net on the day :)

Your chance to try a new Paragon or Mana first hand.

Unlikely we'll have any demo bats, GN don't really supply them but I'll ask.

People are welcome to use my own Vortex and Lucky 7 though, plus perhaps something I've picked for myself from GN by then

I'm thinking of making the trip from the west country. It's my birthday on the Friday so I might looking at having a couple of nights away in the mighty town of Peterborough. Just need to see what else there is to do.

Depends what you're into mate. Peterborough is a fairly average small city. Stamford and Rutland are very close though, both offer a lot of options and wonderful scenery too

Peterborough itself is a bit dull, but maybe that's me having grown up there. Some decent boozers here and there; Charters, Brewery Tap and then a few further out. Can't think of anything too unique food wise, usual chain fare around the city

Quite a few interesting eateries from all corners of the world thanks to the influx of migration. Also a lovely place called Clarkes in the town centre with a stunning menu.

Pub/club wise its a bit stagnant, still quite a few cool pubs tucked away in back streets though.

Just a little bump on this.

GM demo bats are confirmed. George @StrettonFox Sports is working furiously to have some samples ready in time for you badgers to have a look at, we are hoping to show the Bellingham & Smith 2016 ranges too.

We will have stock of H4L, Salix, GM and GN 2016 products by the time of the event, and whilst not 100% confirmed, should have Kookaburra and TON too.

You may have already seen the 2016 B&S bats which will be launching at Vitas Cricket on Saturday too. Samples of softs/bags should be ready  too.

We'll be doing a few bits for Black Friday, much of it will be stuff we have already listed on clearance before

But there are some extras, and there will be some things ONLY available to attendees on Saturday. Much of what we have already reduced, or intend to reduce can be seen in these pictures

As well as a laid back atmosphere and hopefully many friendly faces old and new to chat to, attendees tomorrow can expect unlimited free use of the net and bowling machine, GM demo bats, B&S 2016 launch, a selection of new 2016 equipment as well as an exclusive UK launch never before seen on these shores. Beers, a few snacks. Most importantly LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE.

We also have a few bits and bobs held back from todays black Friday sales that will be at hugely discounted prices, for attendees only, there's a few little teasers below.

See you all tomorrow.

Thanks for the great day Jake even though Wayward Hayward broke the bowling machine was a great day, think only wayward took photos but was good to catch up with old faces and the odd new one as well and always great to spend a day surrounded by quality kit.

B&S softs looked top notch and offer great value for money.

I didn't like the GM colours and the fit of the OLE''s were poor.

H4L looked very impressive and felt a quality product. Not sure I could justify the price of the customs but that's only my opinion.

For me, the H4L or Salix were the best bats, pick up, weights and looks wise, a couple of stunning top
End GM also
Softs - I would honestly say the new B&S softs, quite minimal, great protection on pads and pittards on gloves.

Focus in the UK are UK made. I can't comment on other regions as I don't know.

We are the licensee/distributor for Focus in the UK, we've taken it on as it seems a great way for us to get stuck into a brand that we can run and control (we have full control in our own territory) without having to go through the slog of getting the name established or lose time/money getting samples for softs/bags/stickers right. A bit lazy maybe but we don't have the time!

Feedback so far seems extremely positive :)

Sounds like a no brained then

Saw quite a lot of their gear when I was over in Australia and liked the look of it. Quite understated and simple, bats always looked decent.

Also do they still use the scuff sheets with the branding on?

Scuff sheet fitted to our bats will be the best quality clear stuff as used by all the big manufacturers. I'm not sure if the branded sheet is still used in other regions, if it is we may look at it in the longer term.
