All,
As you may have noticed we have now started a mini series of expert blogs about the cricket industry, and the latest one from Paul features an answer to the questions about hand picking, grading, pick up, performance, grains, etc etc. It's designed to be provocative and stimulative, and far from definitive. The questions posed are ones which cannot be answered, and the opinions expressed are by no means set in stone. It is merely a reflection on our time in the industry, and an insight into why we personally select the bats that we do.
EDIT - The last link appeared not to work, so see how this one works? Hopefully it should be better! https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-makes-good-cricket-bat-insight-grading-handpicking-paul-cole (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-makes-good-cricket-bat-insight-grading-handpicking-paul-cole)
Happy reading and discussing!

That hyperlink didn't work for me

Link goes to "don't get fired for making mistakes"
looks like your on your way out 😉

I enjoyed the article but I would like to see more about cricket and bats next time and less about the perils of social media.

I have now edited the original post so it should work! Fingers crossed!

Excellent read Paul well explained spot on.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Glad it has been so well received! Any interest in more articles? Specifically, what should I write about? I am thinking of doing one on "cricket bat makers vs. cricket bat brands" next but I haven't given it that much thought yet and sure there must be some other topics that are worth covering. Thoughts?

Possibly something on your experiences with varying trends and what drives them, for both bats and other equipment.

Great idea, David - thanks! "The Duffle Bag Revolution", for example! ;)

"cricket bat makers vs. cricket bat brands"
I'm sure that'd make an interesting read to see from the retailers point of view - enjoying the LinkedIn posts so far.
