Hi jake, how much are you able to do a Masuri elite vision in black with black stem guard and a crest please?

2016 pricing applies from now on. We are now an in house Masuri account dealing directly with them allowing for fast turnaround on the lids. The advertised maximum is 4 weeks but our last few batches have been 2 weeks.

Steel is £175 including stemguard.

Titanium is £245 including stemguard.

If you cannot provide an embroidery format file of your logo (.DST file) there is a small one off setup charge to convert and digitise your logo from common formats like PDF, JPG etc. We waive this charge if 4+ helmets are ordered at once.

Obviously not your decision, but 50 quid for that is madness!

On the pricier side for sure. It is a very well made product, but time will tell i suppose, if it doesn't prove popular enough i suppose Masuri will be left with no option but to drop in price.

I'd hope it'd be included in any new purchases at a much reduced rate at some point, but I guess their number 1 aim is profit after all.

I suspect this is something to be discussed going forward with them. For now any package is likely to be done by a retailer, something I'm willing to look at on the higher models, as i have just looked again at £245 for a helmet and wondered if i had made a typo!

By eck that's more expensive than I thought it would be, but I really want one for next season so I may have to just bite the bullet. It'll look so smart all in black with our club crest. Could you possibly tell me how much one weighs (stem guard included) just so I can compare it to my ayrtek elite.

You could look at single bar Test models which would be £215 for Ti and £150 for Steel both including stemguard.

Weight of a Ti lid with logo and stemguard is 1008 grams based on my own helmet which was made in the early part of the Summer.

Weight of a Steel lid with a logo and stemguard is 1206 grams based on a lid we have had made for a local club recently.

I guess the Phil Hughes incident (and other less serious ones) has put helmets in the limelight, but i have to say, My Helmet is maybe 4 years old, was top of the range then and cost me about 50 pounds. I appreciate the new regulations have meant changes were required but it does strike me that some companies do seem to have have used both the aforementioned things as an excuse to hike prices right up.

Can I ask what lid it was? RRPs on top model Titaniums from the big helmet brands have been at least £100 since we started in 2011.

Masuris helmet is entirely UK made. Whether it is right or wrong to say this justifies the prices is up for debate but they do offer a helmet for virtually every realistic price point given the new regulations.

The fact is, the days of a helmet for £20-£30 are gone, for that cost the suppliers cannot get the required technology into the lid in order to pass the test.

I'm also certain costs involved in R&D to get new models to market add up. And @Ayrtek has mentioned straight monetary losses from wasted stock broken on the testing rigs runs into the thousands.

This is pure speculation, but Albion to my knowledge have not put forward any proposed products to pass the new test, they also were not present at the recent Lords trade show. Have they tried to stick to previous pricing policies whilst developing a new standard product and failed miserably?

It's a Masuri, not sure of the model, Grill was one of the Slazenger ones from SD at a bargain basement price for Ti.

I understand some of the reasons for the increases, but the prices have exploded in the last 2-3 years, maybe a topic for another thread, so those who value their looks/lives more than me can order their Stemguards in peace.

There is something for everyone across the range I guess. I know I won't be able to resist one of these by the time next season comes along. What's the lead time and the cost for setting up the embroidery jake? Just want to know how worth it would be to go to the effort of persuading three others to get helmets along with me. Cheers.

Minimum order is one on a custom helmet, so if you cant get anyone else it doesn't matter too much. Lead time is a maximum of 4 weeks from sign off on your artwork. Drawing up the artwork depends on the complexity but a few days max.

The cost is fairly small anyway, we charge £20 for the setup and as it is a one off that then ensures your logo is available for anyone to use from the club in future, i suggest to most people to get their club to pay for it.
