I'm folically challenged and use an Ayrtek so the fact they don't come fitted as standard with any kind of sweat absorption means the sweat would just run straight into my eyes when I'm batting for any length of time. I fixed this by just wearing a sweat band underneath but they tend to be a bit on the thick side and mean the helmet doesn't fit quite as well as it could. I came across a more elegant solution and I've just received one of these in the post:

Which I think will do the job even better. I went for one of the beanie types, it's really thin and light and looks like it's going to do the job superbly. Thought I'd just share this with the fellow baldies who may experience similar problems and be looking for a more interesting solution. :D

Unfortunately I am nowhere near cool enough to pull off wearing a bandanna without looking like a total prat!

I've found that on a scorching hot day, the absorption pads on Masuri don't hold my sweat in anyway so headband is a cracking idea!! The more obvious the better, like Jack Brooks ones, don't want subtly!!

I managed to carry it off with a Nike Bandana ;-). Shame I lost it after 1 net session, £10 down the drain. I think £17-20 for a headband is pretty steep. Just gone on fleabay and brought a simple headband in club colours for £1.39. Going for the Thorpe look.

I have the opposite problem - long hair - I got a white lonsdale headband for about £2 from sports direct but I think I might need an alice band too.

It is pricey for a headband but it's quite an ingenious bit of kit as it wicks the sweat away and has a little rubber strip to stop any sweat getting near your eyes, plus it's been designed to fit snugly and unobstrusively underneath a cycle helmet so it goes perfectly under an ayrtek. I'm happy that it's money well spent as it will get used a lot!

The Nike one I had was similar and felt good under an Ayrtek. I will see how I get on with the cheapo one first.

I am also challenged in the hair department and I have used a Halo headband for near 2 years now. When batting I never have any sweat drip into my eyes.
Only negative is that they start to smell very quickly but a quick hand wash isn't the worst part.
I also use an Ayrtek

I think @Ayrtek does do a sweat insert for some of the helmets if I recall correctly?

We've got padding in stock that can be retro fitted into an ACIS version of the helmet if desired. It will reunite so Velcro that I can include as long as it's mentioned when ordering 👍

might have to send mine in for a retro fit then sometime over the winter. I believe I played against your team, Bristol YMCA?, when they were touring in Worcestershire as the last game of the summer at New Road. Shame you weren't playing Tom but Ayrtek was well represented! Lots of helmets on show and quite a few Affinity bats. John Colley can really strike a cricket ball as well!! Deposited my leg spinners into the county ground twice the cheeky so and so. His H4L is a wee bit of a cannon.

haha yeah sadly i couldnt make it as it was cutting it a bit fine with the due date of my son. Yes he scored over 550 league runs this year in the league with it after i got it from Matt for him a couple of seasons back. He ordered antoher off the back of this one going so well so fingers crossed it scores him a few next season too. He certainly gives it a hit and its always good fun seeing who scores the most 6's between us each season.
No probs re the lid sned it back and can give it an MOT and retro fit some pads for you
