Maybe de Villiers had his ear twisted by his buddy Kohli to switch to MRF...
-
Don't think it will change the factory that makes his current bats

Ouch!
Not good for Kookaburra, especially with it seems the top sponsored players all using SS bats rebranded as Kooks.

Would have gone for new balance if it was me. Who wouldn't want an extra £200k?

Maybe MRF pay more haha

Haha probably. To be fair he would still be using the same bats but Im not sure if the softs would be up to par.

Kohli's deal with MRF is rumoured to be worth £650,000 per year. Therefore someone like de Villiers should be on a similar fee.

He won't be anywhere near what Kohli earns

MRF generally goes after the the best players who can bring international exposure for the brand name. When Brian Lara was sponsored by MRF, they were making a big push towards selling tyres in West Indies. If MRF is planning to expand business in SA(which i am just speculating) who else can better promote them if not ABD !
AB has a huge recognition in IPL as well and currently he is whacking the indian team in SA's tour. I am quite sure AB would be paid a huge sum - 500 to 600k seems a good bet.
Guess AB's bats might come from SS with MRF stickers. Softs would probably come from SS or BAS, given that Kohli and Dhawan's gear bear striking resemblance to BAS/SS gear. For all we know AB's Kook gear might have been a SS labelled as Kook !

I CAn't believe people are questioning who makes AB's bats.
They have Kook stickers so are made by Kook.
His new bats (if he has a new bat sponsor) will have MRF stickers, so must be made by MRF.
CAse close I think ;)
