Had a session yesterday with Adie. That's Procricketer1982 ;). I've been missing my cricket and fancied a knock. Working on my game this winter. After this video we adjusted my grip so I'm playing straighter, and need big work on my legs. Over the next couple of sessions we do I'm going to work on getting my front door across instead of planting it.
Not in the best nick, faced 400 balls and got bowled the once so I'm happy with that.

It was good fun :)

Not looking too bad mate. As you said just try getting your head to stop falling over and that hopefully will stop you planting your foot. But other than that, you don't look too bad. May I ask what pace is that?

Oh do I wish I had a bowling machine barn!

So do I!!!!!!!
I think my net-buddy is running scared of my bowling :)

Hope it wasnt 400 half volleys. No offence but the machine looked a little too quick for you, you didnt look to have much time to get into position and set, and at times almost making your initial movement before the ball was released

Very fair comment.
It was only 60-65 I only made the step up to the 2s this year after playing for them on and off for a couple of years, so I'm not used to some of the pace you get. There was quite a few length balls in there, it might look a bit quick for me at times because I was maybe premeditating it too much... if that makes sense? Also in this video it's like I'm playing with half a bat as I'm not meeting the ball 'squarely' = angled bat and squirting towards gully. Afterwards it improved a bit :) I think I will upload a new video each time.
Thanks for the comment :)

Also I had been in the gym earlier. #gains (or just tired arms!) :P

Watched about 5 minutes worth of this and looks to me like you are falling away (head) after you've played the shot. Next time in the nets try and hold the position for 5 seconds and imagine a photograph is being taken of your shot. Secondly if you are struggling to play straight, try adjusting your pick up either picking it up more towards first slip or to the keeper depending on how the bat is coming through the shot. If you can take the middle stump out of the wickets, take your stance and try swinging the bat through the middle without hitting the leg and off stump. (Farukh and FD cricket showed me that one!)
Aiming for level 2 coaching but not qualified yet ;)
Hope this helps

Lead with your head and shoulders to the ball and your feed will automatically get into the right position. Relax as well as let the ball come to you

Yes I am looking at improving this over the course of these sessions :) on an as-and-when basis at the moment. Finding a couple of drills to do in the meantime.

I have started on the machine and as yourself, I'm looking to improve my batting as I'm primarily a bowler and a pinch hitter. Looking to bat a lot straighter and similarly improve playing balls down the leg and on the pads.
On my third session and having changed my grip slightly, standing straight with slight bend in the knees and keeping my head straight, I have seen an improvement in playing straighter as well as gaining confidence
I started at 60mph this week and after about 10 - 12 balls, I got my eye in and timed it better.
Not for everyone but a few videos on YouTube regarding stance helped me and practicing this in front of a mirror at home.
I practice my stance and simulating a drive in front of the mirror to see if I'm playing it correctly or not.
Head movement first is vital.
All the best with the winter session bud

You too buddy. Find it hard sometimes as if I go too much with the head I can end up playing the shot too early and it hits 3/4 up the bat and spoons up!

Mirror practice at home will help you out with that. Practice head first and the knee being under eye level. Will help you play the ball under your eyes and time it miles better
