would anyone know who's going to or if they are going to telecast the sachin-warne cricket all stars matches on tv?
-
Games are on Sky over here
-
Can't imagine the commentators being too great for this match with most of them on the field whilst the others are in India, UAE and aus. Doesn't leave many.
Least sky have got it
-
Warney's gonna commentate on it all, guaranteed
-
The obvious one would be for them to find an American to commentate which would be horrific.
The next obvious one is just as bad, with the IPL style commentary squad featuring the likes of ..... GULP...... Danny Morrison....
-
As long as it's not Mike Haysman, he is dreadful. Talks far too much and never says anything worth listening to.
-
In the US, WatchESPN app has the games in the upcoming events list. Not sure if will actually be free to watch..most cricket games are but an exception was the World Cup
-
Games are on Sky over here
cheers for that!!! :D
-
When are the games?
-
First one is this Saturday in New York, 5:45pm GMT says Sky...
-
Shane Warne's FB page has a few videos of them promoting / netting, etc.
-
Team's:
Sachin's Blasters: Sachin Tendulkar (c), VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Brian Lara, Mahela Jayawardene, Carl Hooper, Lance Klusener, Shaun Pollock, Moin Khan, Graeme Swann, Glenn McGrath, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shoaib Akhtar, Curtly Ambrose
Warne's Warriors: Shane Warne (c), Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Michael Vaughan, Jacques Kallis, Kumar Sangakkara, Andrew Symonds, Jonty Rhodes, Saqlain Mushtaq, Wasim Akram, Daniel Vettori, Courtney Walsh, Allan Donald, Ajit Agarkar
Really "random" draw
-
Sachin's batting lineup. Maaaaaaan.
-
Hows Agarkhar got in the mix for this!! Couldn't put him anywhere near the bracket of some of the names seen here - average at best

Lol! Couldn't agree more! He must be very good at carrying the drinks.
-
Someone for bopara to aspire to then

They're all there to see Sachin, then.
-
Swanny and Vaughan not playing. Not sure why hooper is playing.
That anthem was an embarrassment
-
Wouldn't like to run off that baseball surface :S
-
Can't work out if this is brilliant or dreadful
-
I'm hoping it's more competitive than that game they played at Lords
-
Such a slow outfield...
-
I'd love a handpicked bat like sachin's
-
"What end do you want al?"
"The one with the sand in run up please Shane"
-
This is awful lol
-
There's gonna be no wickets at this rate, everyone will have to retire
-
Too easy for sehwag! Some baseball shots
No speed guns - reckon they must be at 65mph
-
Not just in my Saturday league that s**t balls get wickets :D
-

Do the Americans know to give the ball back?
-
Well the stadium is filled with people from indopak region...only about 5% from other nations

The outfields like one of those travellators from gladiators
-
It's almost a bit sad to watch, so many great, great players but it's all gone a bit village
-
What did everyone think Shoaib Akhtar was bowling? Looked to be touching 80mph for me?
-
Kallis liked pretty surprised by his bouncer. Looked sharp to me. Suspect there will be a few people walking like robocop tomorrow morning
-
Poor show for me. Struggling to get away with the shape of the ground and it looks very pedestrian which is understandable. More modern legends needed I think. Surprised Afridi and Gilchrist aren't there amongst others, this would suit them.
-
How many times do we need to hear how good it is to play at the Citi stadium and how amazing the Indian crowd is??
-
Saying that, I'm not the target audience, so my opinion probably isn't wanted by Warne/Sachin
-
So I'm guessing who ever wins this game is gonna loose the next one to make the 3rd a final deciding game?
-
It's all a bit of fun but the fact shoaib bounced out sangakara who is still playing first class says to me he was bowling sharp
-

Looks like he's on the juice though. Fitting to be in a baseball stadium
-
Those boundaries look awful.
This event is to real cricket what WWE is to real wrestling.
-
All a bit of fun and games don't take it too seriously, this is purely an exhibition and as that I think it works well
I'd have loved to see Matty Hayden bat for longer though, my fav player/batting idol
-

He played in a charity sort of game here last year and swung it a fair bit but bowled absolute dobblers and had no time for anyone. Maybe he's hit the gym a bit in preparation. Or the old warts have calmed down ;)
-
I think as its on sky and the people around he cranked it up
-
I saw the highlights and couldn't believe the poor bowling. Only bowler that challenged batsmen was Shoaib Akhtar, rest were throwing loseners. Sehwag got a lot of freebies from Walsh and Warne.
If the goal is to "globalize" cricket, then Cricket world needs to do a lot better than this. This looked like an attempt to Americanize cricket. Rather than this sham exhibition, why not have two proper teams hold a proper series in the Americas.
Let's bring two fierce rivals to play a real match instead of Cricket All Star (Commentators and their hangers-on Friends) Series. England v/s Australia? India v/s Pakistan?
-
I think this is a good first step. Though I don't think non-expats attended the game...but still if the tv ratings are good enough it's a good sign.
I attended the gala they had prior to the game - was fun interacting with so many stars at the same time...a few had clearly been "exploring" nyc the night before ;)
-
Also amazed at how quick shoaib still is
-
If the concept was to expand the game, why take a bunch of retired unfit cricketers over there. Half the stadium was empty - should have invited local schools etc.
Just another money making gesture from warne and tendulkar
-

Shahid Afridi is not retired yet, however, not seeing Adam Gilchrist really surprised me, he might be committed elsewhere or would have declined it. Hard to believe that Shane Warne wouldn't have approached him.

I was under the impression that him and Warne really don't get on?
-
The 2nd game is currently being broadcast on GEM in Aus ;)
-
Akram still very good, making the ball move!
Looks like Lara getting back to his best, he just whacked one from Warne to the boundary
-
Saqi still got it!
-
Vaughan didn't look in too bad form, smashing Shoaib for 6 over cover.
-
Sanga seems to like Matthew Hayden's bat...
Vaughan looked in decent knick - but then he always looked good, even when in horrible form - a little like Iron Bell
-
Just seen some of the replay, that ground is tiny, no wonder they got 262! Vaughan hit a sweet six down over long off with his new Mana, I wonder if the bat helped?
-
Sangakarra borrowing warne's massive bat. Looked like one of warners!
A few newbery bats on show in the dugout
-
Just watching highlights now, Sanga using Gray Nics looked weird. Plenty of Slaz on show...
-
Meanwhile before the last LA game, British Airways misplaces Sachin's luggage & religiously getting trolled on Twitter :D
-

Players & commentators spoke about this particular bat at length.. apparently this one's really special & had significant competition as to who gets an opportunity to use this particular piece of willow!
-
Go to Warnes fb page. The bat is in the video of them netting in new Jersey. It's like warners
-
Sat watching a replay I believe.
It's a shame @Tom couldn't get a mmi3 and some softs out to matty Hayden.
His gray nics hear looks very old, so I'd presume he's not being paid to wear it be
