Hello everyone
Just received the bat from the customs here. Had ordered it on 30/10 so I'd say it took reasonable time to reach.
Well the bat weighs 3lb exact, has 12 almost evenly spaced straight grains. Edges @ 42mm & the spine @ 52 mm with 2 mm concaving. Ping I'd say is average for a new willow & I can only hope it gets better after 4-5 hrs of knocking.
Guys but the finishing part I must say is not the best - I'd say it's at par with our top of the range SS Ton or my SG Bat. Might be the case of me having very high expectations [emoji13]
Jake was brilliant to deal with replying instantly to my queries & being fairly patient too. Had requested for a Salix bat wax along which Jake acknowledged. I've applied the wax twice & the bat seems to gobble it immediately. Twas bleached a lil' more than I'd like but after the heavy wax coats, sure looks very pretty now.

If it's the top one in that second picture then that is a particularly huge slab of a bat! I've got a 3lb 2oz Hellfire and it goes like a train, I doubt you'll be disappointed mate :)
-
Pretty certain that bat hasn't been bleached!!
Looks a lovely and huge bat. Good luck wielding that beast
-
Looks like a beast! Love the bit of red in the new stickers. Where are you based if I may ask..
-
@Northernboy - yes, it is the top one mate. Think I've seen yours - 3.2 with two grips & convex profile. Brilliant piece that.
@ buzz - I can show you the difference after batwax by removing the vitas sticker mate. It has turned cream from white previously.
@ Bostoncricketer - I am based in India mate.
One check from my review - the spine is 56 mm. Also, the spine is 35 mm at the G1 sticker.

Yeah that's the one mate, the things all middle it's ridiculous!
-
Could barely spot the grains on this when arrived - looks much different now.
Oh & yes, I found the pick up to be particularly good - feels not too heavier than my 2.12 SG T45 bat & it's probably due to the even distribution of wood.

Looks a lovely stick and sure it will come to life pretty quickly and pretty sure it's not bleached hope it scores you lots of runs
-
Er... The spine is 56mm..? Surely not, clearly more than 14mm bigger than the edges. How are you measuring the spine?
-
@gaurav23 bleached? I don't think it was but definitely could be a bit dry, sometimes wax/oil can also enhance looks and make a bat feel dry even if it is not...All the non-dry bats I have had absorbed about 1-2 coats of oil and looked significantly darker than when I got them..
-
@ edge - you were right mate. The spine is @60mm with the vernier- my bad.
@ tushar - rest assured mate, I understand what bleaching is & to what extent does oil/wax mend it. Will probably get rid of a sticker & post a pic

Gaurav - it is definitely not bleached

Well I better take that now - the bat maker is here.
Hello there Matt. I've knocked it in with a old bat mallet for about 2 hours & it sure is pinging amazing now.
Got to tell you, with sucha pickup, think I'll order a 3.4 warbird soon. Thanks for producing this stick but I wonder why no Monster sticker on it ??

What does this 1461 mean ?
Also, on 1 shoulder '15' is engraved- probably the year manufactured but the engraving on the other shoulder is sanded. Any idea what does it usually contain ??

Do you have notes or any details in the book? It would be fascinating to know, if you have an H4L, any thoughts you may have had when you made it!
-
I'll have to see what number is on my bat
-
Most should be in my book, model, grade, date sold, who to etc ,i do miss some sometimes :(

My NV has c1 stamped on the shoulder. What does that mean? Cheers
