New Slazenger bats for 2009 are as follows:
The i-blade, used by Paul Collingwood, delivers an enlarged sweet spot for improved power and control.
Ian Bell's Air Blade series is Slazenger's lightest and most maneuverable bat, providing enhanced performance for the all-round stroke player.

And why have they anounced these mid-season? Have the pure blade and the other ones in the range( can't remember the names) not been selling?
Saying that i do like the blue sticker's, i presume they're the ones that bell's been using. Also no news on Kallisi's green sticker's.
-
Possibly to do with the Adidas release? With Adidas release around Christmas I'd guess they'll want to maximise their sales potential. The majority haven't heard about Adidas' range, will see Bell and Collingwood using these and may well want to buy them. Also if the rumour Bell going to Adidas is true, they want to get some exposure of these bats before he leaves.
Just guessing mind, it is rather odd to launch this early
-
i think they would sell alot more if they put on the old v389's over there. i think they havent beeen selling well.so time for new ones. notice the lack of stickers on the back
-
Agree with sambo i would actually buy a slaz if they used the v389 stickers!
Is it me or is that bat on the left got cutouts on the edges of the middle? Or are they just stickers?
-
They both look really concaved....
-
Are these available to buy?
-
Not available at the moment, later this year apparently.
-
Omg, love the blue bat, love it with the clean back and not to much stickers.
-
Would need to be very clean on the back though... I'm not to keen on that part of it
-
It looks to me like the bat on the right has huge conacaving... like this bat only all the way down instead of two 'hollows'

There are actually stickers on both the bats - why would the above photos be taken without them?
Also, watching the Test yesterday, it looks like those two stickers on the back of Colly's bat 'bulge' out a bit - could be wrong though!
-
Yeh agree with the last bit Maxxed, was a good photo showing it in the paper.
-
Looks like the change of sticker's helped colly today. Any news on Kallis's new sticker's?
-
i think kallis's bat looks the nicest

For those who can't read the writing:
Iblade - Unique profile delivers Slazengers first inertial designed bat. The strategically crafted rear edge profile increases bat torsion stability to improve shot accuracy and performance.
Air Blade - The AirBlade has been developed for the player who demands ultra lightweight blades but with destructive performance. The concave back spine delivers incredible pickup and sensational manoueverability for all round stroke player.
Hyper Blade - The Hyper Blades long high middle has been developed for exaggerated performance whilst driving. Aggressive stroke makers will gain maximum reponse from this range
-
Are them cut outs on the side of the i blade really cut outs in the wood or just sticker's?
-
They're extruded bits of wood I think.
-
Being that I don't have a vested interest in the selling of these bats I'll give you a review of them on Thursday.
-
when are these coming out to buy?
-
I reckon around late October time.
-
thanks,
this is off the point but does anyone know when the newbery grizzly bat comes on sale
-
It is for sale on www.pro4sport.co.uk
-
Just seen a pic of Collingwood in what I assume are the new pads. They look very much like the pro issue ones, however theres are small V on the top hat. I can't find the photo now, but found a similar one which I'll upload soon.
-
theres a pic in aoc's recent issue that may be these new pads (they where reviewing pads and the pic fitted the description that tom has wrote)

-
yep they look exactly the same as the ones in the revent edition of aoc
-
I really like the look of the blue slazenger, stickers catch the eye more than last years.

-
I like the look of them pads, what does it say underneith the red slaz bit on the front?
-
It's the model. E.g Elite Pro etc
-
Them pads look lovely any ideas when their released.
-
The pads don't do it for me tbh they are very similar to previous years models, the bats however look interesting but will it be the same old story of mass produced poor quality bats across the range ? i guess time will tell but i doubt Slazenger have changed the quality that much.
-
I would imagine within a month. Pure Cricket have them on their site but they're out of stock.
Bats are £280 for the top of the range, don't think they're made in the Uk either.
-
Worst looking keeping gloves ever?
-
Tom i guess they ran out of ideas after the design work on the bats as the pads look nothing special or different and the keeping gloves poop. £280.00 for a Slazenger not a chance in Hell id part with any where near that amount of cash on a Slazenger.
-
I like the colour of the keeping gloves but the back of the hand is terrible!

Just thought I'd update this with a link to the new Slazenger site: http://www.slazenger.com/index.php (http://www.slazenger.com/index.php)
Not 100% working as it's apparently still under construction according to this page www.slazenger.com (http://www.slazenger.com)
