Don't think so, I use a metallic tape for some heating stuff, it's certainly not lead, but that's not to say what your looking at isn't!?

In fact the one I use is aluminium based, so it's definitely not lead.. It can be easily torn just like sellotape..

Wondering if it's the same stuff as the counter balance tape they stick on handles. A quick google earlier showed golfers using metallic tape on clubs, so I assumed it was.

No weight in it really, so my thinking would be it is different stuff..

Mettallic tape is made of high grade material strands bronse brass copper and then coated with plastic.
Lead tape is an heavy metal and is made of : Lead

I guess it's just a version of lead tape that's easier to apply and remove, as I've only ever adjusted clubs with lead tape.

It weighs approx a third more than a normal insulating tape roll, 3oz instead of 2oz. Not sure it's going to make a huge difference unless you use loads of it but it's better than insulating tape.

I've purchased lead tape from a UK eBay seller that was heavier than the above because it's thicker (more lead).
