Evening all
This is directly to the B3 boys please.
Saw an old thread of Chad's where he had "The Chad profile" Laver & Wood and a Screaming Cat mapped.
What would the magic number be on these shapes please?
And we're I to get the Scat shape, would the spine of the bat run into the handle the way the original bat does? To my knowledge it was only Screaming Cat who made handles this way, but having got to play with a Scat recently I would be keen to have the whole bat, including the unique handle shape, replicated.
Many thanks in advance :)
So, I decided to send down my BAS to B3 for a rehandle, and while I was at it, I sent them my Laver and SCAT Series 1 to copy, as:
1, I may never be able to get my hands on a SCat again.
2, I hate the weight gain that comes with Lavers.
3, They are my favourite profiles, so being able to have them replicated accurately is a great thing.
And 4, Seems like my Laver profile is reasonably popular, and the Screaming Cat Series 1 is a pretty coveted profile on here, from what I've seen. (Share the love!)

Spoke to Streaky over the phone, and it turns out that one made in the Laver profile will weight 2lb 11.5oz, and one in the SCat profile will weigh 2lb 9.5oz. This means that the actual cleft weights of the two bats I sent them aren't actually anything extremely light! (2.12 and just under 2.11 respectively) However, the scuff sheets that Laver use weigh around 0.8 ounces, and the toe guards are pretty heavy too, so you have a few things to keep in mind! (I also think that JM leaves a lot of weight in the handle to help aid the balance!) I personally think they look pretty darn close myself, obviously with the B3 press roller being a slightly flatter face, it won't be completely identical to the SCat, but very close indeed. (Admittedly, I feel that the spines are slightly longer on the originals, but I think that's only because the copies are in a smaller image!)
Thanks again Streaky! Didn't realise the Laver's spine height was 66mm!
PS. I don't have the numbers for these profiles, but I'm sure if you contact Streaky or Dave, and request one of these profiles, they'll be able to do it for you under the Bespoke option. :)

Interesting, I wondered whether anyone would take a punt on either of these bat maps

What's the best shape to get something around 2'7-2'8 ish. One grip, minimal stickers, mid-low middle, don't mind about a little bit of concaving and not the biggest edges - quite realistic certainly!

Hi Chris I would suggest something like this mid to low middle a bit of concaving I sure the b3 boys could do something like this very easily

Oh, how I miss that Scat and Laver... Had to put the Laver on a diet, had forgotten how much I liked that profile...

Chad what was the b3 copy like ?

Chad what was the b3 copy like ?
I didn't actually get a copy, but wanted to store it for future use/for fellow forum members who loved the profile! Purely from looking at it, the copy is pretty close, and at 2lb 9.5oz with an average density cleft, it is a pretty manageable weight! It does seem to be larger in certain areas, but don't think it makes a huge difference. I think I'm gonna go for the Scat profile, I think it was a Series 3. Hope that helps!

You know the number bud ?

Chris, You could go for a similar profile to what I asked John to make me. 2.8 with no concaving.

Oh, that chad profile is absolutely marvellous. I am also gonna wait for its profile number. Chad, you say an average density will get 2,9.5? That's right up my alley.

I'll try dig it out for you!

Chad, many others including myself would be interested in knowing this; wonder whether Doc would be able to help out.

I can confirm there is no number for the two profile Chad had done but if you email or ring up wanting one streaky has the profile on system
I can confirm screaming cat will be 2-10 and a half at 400
And the laver will be 2-13 at 400

Can the profiles be posted here? Just wanted to do a final comparison of the shapes as I have to decide from 4 profiles.
Will these profiles be bespoke or custom if ordered without any modifications?

If there no modifications it will be custom sir
