Title: B3 NEW 48MM "XLPHON"
Post by: procricket on December 22, 2015, 07:02:16 PM
We made this up yesterday after looking at a few pictures of a Indian players and adapting to our needs...

It not a lightweight it at just under 2-14 in a 381 oversized density so not for the faint harted.

Any way here it is

48mm edge no face shots yet.....

I have the number but please be aware this will be around 3lb and pick up is good but does feel like a club on a stick

 :D :D

Idea came about whilst eating a dounut i saw a picture on social media and thought why not mat.. The bill is flat but it still bigger than most bats and whilst it looks a extreme minor sloping bill there plenty of wood and the hitting area oh the hitting area.

I'm finished for the season working with Streaky coming up with crazy shapes this is my last of the pre season i like it yes it big and heavy.

Time to get back to my lovely 2lb 8oz normal cleft "Tonto" or Zizi but once you go big can you go back down and by no means is a 2-8 bat.

Is that a cricket bat or a ski slope?!  :D could turn it round for the ramp shot over the keeper Dave

Thought when it was in a more raw form, in the other thread it looked good! but I think its a little bit too drastic for me. I may have to consider getting a similar shape just more duckbilled, something 45/46mm with a 30mm toe and the spine running down into it. A monster of a bat!

This shape is based on the new Xlphon - not sure where Dave gets his names from, surely we are running out of Greek gods!

The below shape can be made out of a "normal" sized cleft but hopefully still retains the features of the design. This is how crazy cricket bat design has become as 6 months ago, this would have been considered big, but now, it is just normal.

Vital statistics - available in 2lb 10.5oz and above.

Enjoy!

Streaky

P.S. somebody said to me the other day "if it aint broke, dont fix it" - not really thought about the phrase before but it got me thinking what a rubbish saying it was. If everyone had that attitude how would we progress. So thought of the festive season - "if it aint broke, develop it". It was this time four years ago that B3 was a spark in my little brain.

The funny thing is that I see features from bats of the eighties in many of these. The flat back from toe to hitting area is very reminiscent of the old V12.

Thanks Dave, which grade is it? Are the grips also available with B3?

When do they reopen as I have to place my order to give Doc ample time to finish before the offer expires.

Nice one Dave. Looks perfect. It seems i am starting to like the modified xlphon. If the shapes that i desire doesn't give me the required weight, i think i will finalize thia new xlphon.
Dave, is this profile good for low wickets?

Picked this bat up yesterday and what a weapon. I thought it was 2.9 and seriously considered getting it copied. The pick up is sublime along with the size

Phenomenal bat

I was amazed at how well balanced all of daves shapes were

Oversized kohli felt unreal as did the typhoon.....

There was a crown typhoon being finished off and it's one of the nicest clefts I have seen.... Gonna be a proper bat that one

Bit of topic but did you pick up and Pepsi's Canners?
Title: Re: B3 NEW 48MM "XLPHON"
Post by: Canners on December 31, 2015, 02:49:20 PM
Pepsi was another massive bat that felt a lot lighter than its dead weight

Think the one I felt was 2-13 and again I'm a 2.8/9 user normally but would be fine with that bat
